Did congress authorize this fucking war where American lives will undoubtedly be lost? If not, why the fuck do we have a congress? Why are we paying very large salaries and benefits to all these assholes since they do absolutely NOTHING!

Now that they are building an Aldi in downtown St Paul, we can set our sights high.
In 2027, we're turning the Midway Shopping plaza into a Lotte World

Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes βI love struggling, it makes me feel aliveβ is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization
Last year I suggested that @mnufc.com do a light show instead of fireworks for many reasons. Tonight, I saw a great light show, brightening up a snowy day. It was a lot of fun! Thank you!
Just logged in to listen as my soundtrack to watching the Olympics on mute. Looking forward to hearing the album.
I miss when you could post Brave Norman Rockwell Townsperson and the caption could be, like, βR.E.M was wrong to leave βFretlessβ off of Out of Timeβ instead of βThe secret police should stop murdering people.β
US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:
"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."
Gun Owners of America is lobbying Congress to pass the SAVE Act, which would require a majority of Americans to show a passport to register to vote.
But GOA opposes any law that requires showing a drivers license to buy a gun.
These are not serious people.
This has always been my wish - I don't mind building up, but have always hated when we lost businesses because of it.
Sleep and Biological Rhythms Small shifts in diurnal rhythms are associated with an increase in suicide: The effect of daylight saving Michael BERK, Seetal DODD, Karen HALLAM, Lesley BERK, John GLEESON, Margaret HENRY 21 February 2008 Abstract Large disruptions of chronobiological rhythms are documented as destabilizing individuals with bipolar disorder; however, the impact of small phase altering events is unclear. Australian suicide data from 1971 to 2001 were assessed to determine the impact on the number of suicides of a 1-h time shift due to daylight saving. The results confirm that male suicide rates rise in the weeks following the commencement of daylight saving, compared to the weeks following the return to eastern standard time and for the rest of the year.

Iβve long thought itβs better to say βitβs nice to see youβ than βhow are you?β bc it doesnβt put ppl whoβre struggling on the spot to be cheerful
But an interesting thing about how collective the trauma is in Minnesotaβwhen you start a work mtg w βhow are you?β, you often just get an honest answer
Yeah, even people in other neighborhoods in St Paul don't realize everything we went through. Not only did outstate people destroy our businesses, they came here a lot for about 1-1.5 years after to slum tour, shoot off fireworks, drive revved up cars, & cause general disturbance on a regular basis.
Peking Garden moved as noted in the other comment. Golden Gate Cafe never relocated.
Yeah, I looked that up recently, too and was surprised that while he has been identified, nothing else has happened.

I think it's rather sad that people are describing the ICE murders as "people are being killed by their own government", as though that were somehow unusual.
The majority of murders are committed by people known to the victims (relatives, neighbors, etc), but of the people killed by strangers...
I have never really been a fan of Springsteen. And I avoided the song at first. But then it popped up on KALX while I was listening. I got so emotional hearing it.
As others have aptly pointed out, police forces have been murdering people for a long time, especially POC. This terrorism from ICE is only a continuation and newest version of what we have been seeing for a long time.
At this point if I was abducted by aliens π½πΈI would consider it a rescue mission.

The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai is a touching novel about connection- friendship, family, romance & fleeting kindness between strangers. As it explores loneliness & the search for home, it gently reveals how we share the same longings to belong and be understood. Recommended read!

Another time - after a long flight to Tokyo, our child was motion sick and ended up vomiting on the train to the hotel. Several passengers had wet wipes, bags, etc and helped us clean up.
We were in Shanghai trying to find our hotel room. Someone recognized the lost looks on our faces, called the hotel for us, found the floor it was on and walked us up to the office to make sure we got there all right.
Extremely sad.
