Never going to trash the stories they brought us

Doug Bowser had done nothing to endear us to himself nor the developer and publisher that is Nintendo.

There won’t be another leader like Iwata and Reggie in this space probably, and that sucks.

Still going to hope though.

Modern Nintendo feels faceless and empty with whispers of the genuine nature of older Nintendo. That nature is only from developers on the ground floor though.

The from Reggie having to insist and fight for Wii Sports to be included is gone and nobody has that drive from the top. See the Switch 2 Tour game that should come free. I’m aware he fought for this WHILE Iwata was head, but I digress.

Leadership like the latter is now guiding incredibly developers so we’re still getting highly polished games but something has been missing for a long time.

I used to get the feeling that leadership genuinely went home and played video games. Now though it feels like that’s most likely not the case and only reinforced by this new drive that comes across as profitable product first, video game second instead of the other way around.

Hopefully Devon Pritchard brings back the feeling that higher ups at Nintendo actually play video games and it isn’t only always about profit to the point of charging for your what should be Pack In Wii Sports-esque game for the Switch 2.
