Still, using that limited donation for PR is inappropriate. Firefighters were injured. The station was damaged. What was given barely scratched the surface.

…for the damage she caused when her vehicle detonated inside our station. It covered just a fraction of the total cost. I accept the explosion wasn’t malicious and just the result of incompetence.

Sometimes “sorry” isn’t enough, especially when you grossly minimize what you actually did or falsely claim blame for lesser things to massively soften the truth and don't change. That’s not accountability; it’s narrative control and it insults those who saw your actions for what they really were.

The flip side is that some have endured or witnessed too much cruelty.

No, of course not. I said clearly it was hypothetical. FDH doesn’t down tools, that’s not who we are. But the fact you're outraged at just the idea? That proves the point. We matter. We’re vital.
