Yeah. Nobody ever mentions it's like drinking a glass of earwax.
You can use it as an intransitive verb describing a group of actions: They violented around town all night... But as a transitive verb it sounds too euphemistic: He violented his teacher.
There's a lot of range in uniforms. Polo shirt and pants in a specific color would be cheaper than the blazer/necktie/stupid hat combination, and also reasonable to wear to non-school events. So... *some* uniforms function that way.
