Red Hood :>
I do the bare minimum to keep myself informed of the facts. Anything more is just going to hasten my own demise. I have no energy left and I just need to survive.
I hit this point just over a year ago and it's incredibly upsetting to be around friends/family who still share memes and crack jokes about it. Yes, I get that that's how some of you cope. I get that humor or satire can be an effective tool against fascism. But I'm way past that point.
Part of what it means to grow as an artist is to learn to value your creative process, and in doing so, to learn to love yourself. There will always be something or someone else who is trying to take advantage of you. But they can never take that seed of creativity as long as you nourish it.
Struggle and imperfection, creativity and humanity, is what distinguishes art from slop. You may feel demotivated because a machine LOOKS like it can do what you do, but it can't FEEL what you did when you made your art. Even if those feelings are sometimes painful, that's what makes your work real.

The handmade, human qualities of your work are more valuable than they've ever been. Don't doubt that for a second.
