Awesome! My fundamental goal is to encourage dialogue and mutual growth. My passion for ethics, citizenship, respect and service guide my efforts. Let's keep pushing topical depth and rigorous exchange. I left the Twitter-X cesspool after the Idiocracy takeover. Much respect! Keep the info flowing!
Something worth celebrating in this era of chaos!

Thank you, @pinktweets.bsky.social, for sharing the FCC Fairness Doctrine text. Seeing its roots in 1920sβ40s radio regulation and its 1949 adoption as an FCC policy for radio (and later TV) broadcasters allowed me to be educated and recognize that Iβd misapplied it in my earlier commentary.
@egrattan.bsky.social I stand corrected. I read it and on review, I see I misapplied the Fairness Doctrine in my earlier commentary. Its roots are in lateβ1920sβ1940s radio regulation and it became an FCC policy in 1949 for radio, later TV licenseesβnot the broader tool I implied. Now I know.
Thanks for thatππ½
Sure. I was wrong. Your depth of knowledge is appreciated
My underlying goal is to stimulate dialogue so thanks for your input. I've enjoyed the exchange. Your points are well taken. And perhaps when I have more time, we can pursue this further. The psychological and financial impact on political discourse and political finance are worth consideration.
2. Citizens United v. FEC (2010) held that corporations, unions, and nonprofits could spend unlimited money on independent political expenditures, framing such spending as protected political speech.
1. Repealed in 1987, the Fairness Doctrine required broadcasters to provide balanced coverage of controversial public issues and to air opposing viewpoints at their own expense.
π€£ you are hilarious. Educate me. You haven't made a point or stated a fact yet. Disprove what I said. Or is that all you got? A classic example of the Dunning Kruger effect.
Elizabeth thanks for the banter I enjoy it very muchβΊοΈ
Let me help you out. The end of the Fairness Doctrine and the Citizens United ruling worked together to skew political power toward wealthy interests by reshaping who controls information and who can fund politics at scale.
Now I am listening to and ready to hear your counterpoint. π€
How would I know unless you clarified. You made a statement as if it were a fact and failed to provide evidence. So did you have a point to make, or did you just need to vent?
Thanks for engaging -- we need that kind of energy.
Always here for dialogue and mutual growth. It's healthy.
You are free to assume so. And clear up what you perceive as my lack of understanding. I'm listeningπ€
Trump's "Me-istic Madness" is clear, well documented, and predictable. #SendBarron is a message to the administration that is generating momentum and dialogue. We know Trump pays attention to polls and social media trends. And it even made you respond. Agreement is not needed interaction is. Thanks
Indeed!
Jayapal: DHS is supposed to be protecting our residents. You have actually turned the United States government against its own residents. Yours is a case of failed leadership secretary, you need to resign, be fired, or be impeached.

Now that's a longer conversation about the impact of "Citizens United" and the repeal of the "Fairness Doctrine."
Still "National Security" is a fuzzy concept. It includes your list and my comments as well. It depends on the lens you view it through.
But it is still important. We cannot afford to disengage. Brief encounters matter just as much as indepth ones. No one has all the answers but we all have some questions. We may disagree but we must keep engaging! No matter what, we can't give up!
