Rope-Kun Adventure
A nice little puzzle game. Has a decent number of stages and a variety of fun gimmicks to play with. Took me about 2 hours to 100% it. Pretty fun for such a small indie game.

played it 4p with some friends. had some fun, but idk it felt... a bit flat? not bad, but never really hooked me much either. a bit buggy too, but they've been patching it. dicking around with friends is always fun though, so oh well I guess.

FAFO and cosmic holes were obviously bad but I downloaded them for fun. sadly FAFO wasn't even funny bad, just ai art and lots of boring words. cosmic holes was UE5 portal, but I don't know if the dialogue was funny because it was russian. it was janky and I managed to softlock myself
it was pretty fun, but also a little simple, so it'll be interesting to see where it goes in the full product. as for the other games in the list I didn't mention, they were mostly fine but just didn't really hook me for whatever reason, but might still be worth checking out when they're done.
future knight is a very... unique game that is stylized to look like an old LCD game, not quite sure what I think about it but it's definitely memorable. and goblin village plays like classic doom, but you're grabbing items to throw at a goblin fighter to keep him going while he fights adventurers
bombun is another 3d platformer with a focus on reaching a goal quickly but has 3d bombs like bomberman 64, cursechapter: dawnthief was a 2d platformer with some fun movement, minishoot' adventures is "what if zelda 1 was a twinstick shooter", and under the island was a more traditional 2d zelda
alabaster dawn is an action/adventure a la lttp with combos, upgrades and good art. blast cats is a 3d platformer with a ton of variety (I spent 90+ minutes in the demo and didn't do everything!), and schrodinger's call and inquisitor shepherd were very different but very visually striking VNs
the ones that stood out the most were alabaster dawn, blast cats, inquisitor shepherd and schrodinger's call. bombun, curse chapter: dawnthief, minishoot' adventures, and under the island were also p good. future knight and I won't let you level up in my goblin town were very unique and interesting
finally finished all the next fest demos that caught my eye. initially I didn't have a lot, but I went through the list again a few days later after things had more time to float to the top and looked at some threads. I think some of these aren't exactly "next fest" demos but they're in here anyway

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
It's funny how much of a jump in quality there is between 1&2 and v3. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending back in the day, but I've softened on it a bit over the years. Still really like the rest of it though

The only thing I’ll give it is splatoon worked better on the Wii U being able to easily see all the ink all the time and jump to allies with a tap
Also the better tick rate but that has nothing to do with the Wii U itself and more just ninty never making good decisions when it comes to online
It’s real good and so fucking long for a demo. Any game soundtrack with some delay lama can’t be bad
