Faiz: what's with the glasses? Hidé: if you didn't notice, I had to squint my eyes to really try to see shit at times. Scarlett suggested I take an eye exam. Apparently I have been nearsighted for a while and neglecting it only made it worse.* Faiz (jokingly): No offense, Jun. I did not know you were squinting your eyes. I just thought you were, y'know. (Hidéyasu rolls his eyes.) Hidé: I will take some offense to that.* Faiz: Well, luckily I got you a gift to make up for it. (Faiz tosses him a small box. It's heavy in his rugged hands.) (Hidéyasu opens it to find a pair of brass knuckles. One of them has the letters F A I Z ingrained over the slots in reverse. He puts the knuckles in his pockets to free his hands.) Hidé: funny. Must be my birthday.* Faiz: you don't look like you found that funny. Hidé: now why would I need these?* Faiz: you can't go around punching folks with your bare knuckles. You'll get a boxer's knuckle. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what that's like. (Hidéyasu is hesitant for a brief moment.) Hidé: Thank you. You didn't have to get these suckers especially made just to stamp your name on them.* Faiz: now you'll be the one stamping my name on people. Let them know who owns you. Sends a message, doesn't it? You don't need to pass notes saying "Faiz sends his regards", this is much faster. See how inclusive our work environment is? (Faiz pats Hidéyasu on the shoulder.) Faiz (jokingly): I am quite the ally of the deaf and mute community. Blind community too since you are four eyed now. Hidé: you are lucky I am quite the ally of the Jewish community or I would've broken your nose by now.* (Hidé takes another look at the brass knuckles with a sigh) Hidé: Billy is going to hate this thing.* Faiz (jokingly): then you can just stamp my name on his face. *Hidéyasu is communicating via ASL
