"Gull on a Growler" (2017) 18" X 24" acrylic on canvas painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
Strong's Point, Clarenville.
Original painting available
I know it's not technically a "growler" but I couldn't avoid the alliteration for the title. "Gull on a Pan" doesn't have the same effect. (lol)
"Early Morning Light" (2020) ~10 X 14" acrylic on paper painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
A little earlier today than yesterday ... about an hour actually.

Congrats for making the "Canadian Paintings" platform again Lee! You deserve it.
I don't know, but I think we should keep posting :

Otherwise what he's doing is working in his favour .... Not that it will actually make a difference ... But try.
"Cape Bonavista: Snow and Ice" (2026) 17" X 23" acrylic on watercolour paper painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
I've painted this lighthouse several times over the past dozen years or so, and I don't think I've used the same style twice.

... And distract ... you know, from that other looming and growing issue with young ladies ... And possibly also have an intensifying international "dispute" or "war" as a reason to defer, delay, or cancel elections.

Is there anyone left down there who could competently fill that position??

Maybe this will help you take some focus off "snow" at least for a little while.
"Turn to the Cabin, Winter" (2023) ~17 X 23" acrylic on paper painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
I really like this one. There is a lot more artistic input than at first glance. Decisions made mixing shades of blue alone were complex & multitudinous.

"Fence Across the Road at Denny's Pond" (2026) 14" X 11" acrylic on watercolour paper by Reilly Fitzgerald.
Possibly the start of a "Denny's Pond at Night" series inspired by a recent walk with my camera, similar to the "Clarenville at Night" series.

I have been working on a project with Plumleaf Press for a very special anniversary coming up later this year. Here is detail from an illustration (which may or may not appear in the book) to give you a hint, until I get the full clearance to share the news.
Have a great day, from NL, Canada.
"Woodpile beside a Path to Denny's Pond" (2026) 20" X 16" acrylic on canvas painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
My first completed piece of the year. Once again a painting showing an actual scene, experienced by & painted from the perspective of a lifetime resident of Newfoundland & Labrador.

βRivalsβ (2013) 11β X 31β mixed media on paper painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
I painted this 13 years ago as the new hockey rivalry was developing. Today seems to be a pinnacle of that rivalry.
A couple of drawings I did several years ago. I break them out every four years.
They are pencil drawings which were scanned and uploaded, then digitally coloured and decorated ... They were computer graphics made by a traditional artist the old fashioned way, long before AI.
by Reilly Fitzgerald
In Canada, before the Americans started "influencing" our game, we said "hockey" (saying "ice" is redundant!) we wore "sweaters" not "jerseys," and they're still the "boards" NOT "the wall" at least not until they start giving penalties for "walling"!

"After the Tsunami: Burin 1929" (2025) acrylic on canvas triptych: 12X6 & 12X12
Destruction hit the Burin Peninsula on Nov. 18, 1929 as a result of a 7.2 earthquake off the Grand Banks that sent a massive wave toward Newfoundland. It resulted in 28 deaths & complete obliteration.

βBerries & Birdsβ (2015) 16 X 12 acrylic on canvas painting by Reilly Fitzgerald.
A fun piece from more than a decade ago. A stylized expression, inspired by robins in the Dogberry trees (Mountain Ash) in our backyard in Clarenville, NL; inspiration for many of my paintings.
BTW Thanks for being one of my only regular supporters on Bluesky. If it wasn't for your regular shares and 'likes' I'd question being here even more. Thank you so much.
