I happily missed out on that trend at the time. But now, as of two weeks ago, I started playing wordle for the first time. Thankfully I know better than to post my results.
At the Theatre The first time I brought you to the theatre in town you remarked excitedly at every little detail from the size of the curtains to the costumes on display in the audience and on the stage You held my hand we as walked to our seats and rested your head on my shoulder during the monologues when they sang the chorus your eyes grew wide with wonder It’s beautiful, you murmured After the performance we walked under the stars a clear spring night the humidity sticking to us as you stuck at my side both your arms clutched to mine your giggles at my jokes muffled in my shirtsleeve we walked home away from the town lights our senses heightened by the dark you and I side by side your soul and mine entwined We didn’t know we had gone to the theatre for the last time
A poem from Hibiscus Tea.
I just realized Bluesky hides my phone clock while I’m in the app. Now that’s devious.
All Your Hate Left alone to your own devices you’re no longer afraid to open the gate to keep an eye out for an alternative fate one where all your hate flowed out Blood-red bright nightmares hoping immolately to crack open the skull of tonight’s bucking sacrificial bull while all along your hate flowed out You mock believers of the goddess of gods beat down by a bitter tongue-tied threshing with no devious wine-red water refreshing when tomorrow all your hate flowed out You could’ve called up all you unlearned putrid poetry black as burned charbroil recalled in your mouth as a filmy soil finding out how all your hate flowed out You can only shake and can only surmise how love makes you scream your fears at your lies not love—you despise his truth and his tears and you left it all—death of you—as hate flowed out
A poem I wrote.
Yeah, it definitely ends on a sad note. Resolved, but not happily.
Really cool way of telling that sort of story! The creeping dread of what was happening is somehow enhanced by not knowing the details.
Another day, another Patreon short story! I'm keeping this one under the free category, but you do need to subscribe. I need the tiny dopamine rush of seeing the numbers go up, especially with Daylight Saving Time!

He tried to keep up with the Joneses, but they were super fast runners. He had hardly jogged since college.
A cartoon illustration of a park ranger surprised to find a deer and antelope standing on their hind legs and playing catch with a baseball. Caption reads "He'd finally found it. The place where the deer and the antelope play."
Shocking. #grickledoodle #deer #antelope #play #cartoon #art #drawing #funny #humor
I’m reading Luminous by Silvia Park. I’ve had trouble getting into it, but I’m hoping to find momentum this week.
Yeah, seems that’s probably for the best
Deciding whether to fall apart at the seams or fly off the handle.
I’ve gotta lock in next week and get it done!
I need about 5 hours to finish drafting my novella. Might finally finish by this time next year.

Doing well enough! I hope you’re doing well too

Maybe I should start writing *before* I have coffee, when all the truly bonkers ideas are rattling around my skull.
“Stop," she said. "Kookaburra, stop!”
But it was too late. He walked into the road. He never saw the truck coming.

Be honest with me. Have you greeted a single duck today?
It does feel like October Music format, but extended. And it’s working well
You were absolutely in your bag with this one. Great voice and I love how it unfolds to discover what’s going on.
And another Patreon short story for you! This time, it's for free and paid members, so if you want to read it, feel free to sign up (you don't even have to pay - I just hope the subscribers go up).

So apparently there's a gay guy who used to own a sci-fi/fantasy bookstore that now does quality line editing at an affordable rate. Apparently he also has availability for 2026.
