Sparkling water
Deep in the woods
AllEyeSee. An old self-portrait.
Spring is finally on the way!
Teasel abstracts.
Teasel and glass. Distorting photos of teasels with warped glass filters.
InsideOut. Self portrait.
The warm glow of summer.
Oxeye daisies that grew through the cracks in our path and I couldn't bring myself to pull up.
New Forest pony with a fantastic hair style.
Orchid in the New Forest (from Summer).
Sometimes you don't even have to leave the garden!
From summer and our unkempt "lawn".
Thorny subject.
Did I manage to prick my fingers while arranging these? Yes, of course. Will I learn to not do so next time? Of course not, don't be daft.
Poppies.ย
A selection of the poppy heads I rescued from the allotments before the mowers arrived to churn up the wildflowers in the verges.
Three cones in a row.ย
I found these on a path while on walk in winter and managed to get them home in one piece. This is a rarity, the bottom of my bag is a graveyard of bits of forest scrapings I've picked up and then forgotten to remove at a later date.
Pink cosmos flower blurred by water on glass in the foreground.
Pink cosmos through glass.
Close up photograph of a dried wild carrot head.
Wild carrot profile.
Photograph of a bottle containing a spray of dried flowers, grass and feathers. Image is mostly dark with the flowers highlighted I an beam of light. Distorted light patterns fill the foreground.
Glass of grass.
A selection of stuff that I have grown and then dried. I'm slowly drowning in stuff I've grown/collected. Not really sure what to do with it all now.
Still life photograph. A bottle in the foreground contains bright yellow flowers (buttercups) with a single flower to the right of it. The background is mostly in shadow - a series of bottles with dried plants. A beam of light points at the bottle with the bright flowers.
Capturing spring.ย
I've been putting off posting this because the ridiculous amount of effort I put in made me wary of sharing it. I spent AGES working this one out and have about 50 different variations of it with slightly different compositions and lighting styles. If you like it, I'll post more
Photograph of pink and yellow flower in darkness.
Photograph of pink and yellow flower in darkness.
Cosmos (I think) two different views. Possibly two different flowers? I can't remember. I've dried one of these (unless they are both the same flower, in which case both of them) and it's kept it's colours wonderfully.
Will I remember to plant seeds again before summer? Who knows? (Probably not)
Landscape photograph. Foreground is a rocky shore, in the background two mountains converge above a thin strip of lake.
Little bit of Loch Tay.
Photograph of a wild carrot against a textured background with a tangle of shadows like tree branches.
Wild carrot (again). Yes, I photographed this one quite a lot.
Photograph of a bunch of brightly lit bunny tail grass heads (very fluffy seed heads) with a bright blue background with a sunburst shadow pattern.
In the spotlight. More of my decorative grass experiment.
I've managed to dry a load of these really nicely, unfortunately, the studio gets damp in winter, so storing them is a challenge and if I bring them in the house, the daft cats try and eat them ๐๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ
Photograph of a close up of a dry canary grass seed head in mostly darkness.
Grass in darkness. Some Canary grass I grew in my ridiculous barrel of decorative grasses (currently a ridiculous barrel of dead stalks awaiting my having the energy to do something about it for the year)
Photograph of a close-up of a decayed, dried poppy head on a white background.
Detail in decay. Look at that texture!
Photograph of a curled and spined white teasel leaf on a stark white background.
Teasel leaf minimalism.
Black and white photograph of a leaf. Black background. a forked leaf with low-key lighting.
Throwback Thursday - Hex Prelude.
There's definitely something daemonic about this leaf.
I really wish I knew then what I know now. Mostly that it's absolutely fine to ignore dickheads and talk to the people who are not dickheads.
Landscape photograph looking out to sea over rocks. Blue sky with scattered clouds over a slate grey sea. In the centre there is a warning sign - a post with a red cone on top.
Black and white high contrast photograph of the sealine. Mostly black with bright spots of clouds and highlights on the waves.
Landscape photograph. black and white image of rocks on the shore.
Black and white landscape photograph of the beach. Close up of sea foam running over gravel.
Day trip to Barton On Sea back in October.
I have had too much stupid to deal with this week.
Close up photograph of edge of large old book, a gold coin and a selection of antique keys.
Wizard's desk close-up. Esoteric ephemera.
