Somehow I'm finding it hard to disentangle the University's recent fall from the global QS top 100 from the questionable management strategies of its higher ups.
Today I learned that at the time the Department of Archaeology at the University of Sheffield was shut down, we were placed 6th the UK, and 29th in the world.
Literally top ten and they still shut us down.
PhD supervisor for hire. Will keep you on track by sitting in the background sighing while you try to work. Kind of an ass in that he never responds to direct requests for feedback but will jump on you randomly to take him for a walk, but otherwise very agreeable. 10/10 for silent support.
