Sketching out book cover ideas for a second edition of The Woods, what do we think of this?
Millennials are killing the ozone layer industry?!?!?
(Millennials, who make up 21% of the population, account for a mere 15% of greenhouse gas emissions, while boomers, who make up another 21%, emit 30% of greenhouse gasses, according to one study.)
By the way, CNN officially called it a recession yesterday. What's essentially state media calling it a recession means we might be in full blown depression territory now.
On the contrary, I'd say a lot of making a novel work is a form of engineering.
Same. The first draft of The Woods was in first person present tense and I ended up switching to third person past tense for the second draft. The book has a somewhat nonlinear plot that happens over the course of like 30 years so present tense felt weird.
Hercules was fucking on one this morning so instead of starting my morning by turning on last night's Daily Show, I started today with a bird feeder video for cats, and honestly? It's much better for my blood pressure. He might be onto something.
βWill parents be able to handle difficult conversations with their children about our movies?β From the conglomerate that killed Bambiβs mom and Mufasa.
Describe your plot in five words or fewer, if you dare:
(Your) dead ex isn't over you
(Okay, I cheated. Sue me.)
Ironic since Easter is literally a pagan holiday that the Christians stole during the Roman Empire.
It's OC but based on a @miniminuteman.bsky.social video
Just ordered a paperback proof copy of #Heliruna to red-pen for the final line edit and spellcheck. In a few short days I'll be holding my second novel in my hands.
Question for anyone who's formatted with Calibre: I'm trying to use Calibre to format my book and I used line breaks to denote scene changes but Calibre is getting rid of them for some reason. Anyone know a way around this?
the permanent standard time vs permanent DST argument makes a lot more sense when you realize the standard time defenders touting "natural circadian rhythms" are just morning people who've are used to society being built around them their entire lives and they really mean *their* circadian rhythms
@yxuppi.myatproto.social no hard feelings, we're all on the same team and the internet fosters ambiguity.
I don't have a pre-order link yet but my second novel is coming in just a few short months. Watch this space!
The jokes write themselves.
Okay first of all, I am trans so calm down. Second, he hates trans people BECAUSE he's a nazi sympathizer. You're yelling at clouds over here.
Me using the indefinite and nonspecific "you" probably doesn't help. They probably thought I was attacking you specifically.
Because the more people that know Gavin Newsom is a nazi sympathizer the better?
Kurt Cobain once said that Butthole Surfers were the best band ever. Of course he said that about several different bands over the years, including The Vaselines (who he covered two of their songs on Incesticide), Teenage Fanclub, Shonen Knife, and Pixies.
A snap of Hazel pointing a replica shotgun at a clock on the wall. The picture is captioned, "sorry old girl :("
Happy daylight savings time, y'all!
No, not really, but gross coffee is better than a fourth heart attack I suppose.
It's been less bad since I went back from quitting cold turkey and did like two weeks of half-caf to wean myself off caffeine, but being on decaf-only sucks now.
A flyer for Gavin Newsom's podcast, "This Is Gavin Newsom", where he interviews noted white supremacist Steve Bannon mere weeks after he threw a nazi salute at CPAC 2025.
What you call a "purity test" I call the low bar of "I won't vote for someone who promoted literal nazis and their talking points on his stupid podcast".

Local Massachusetts weekly says it's confirmed that the Pentagon was relying on Claude for strike targeting, which is how they came to bomb a girls' school.
