I actually chose my other middle name Amanda recently. I was given two middle names at birth and wanted to replace both. I chose Amanda from a story I read about a trans girl who chose it because it means worthy of love, and I wanted to remind myself that I am worthy of love each day too.

I chose my middle name Katrina for my mother in law, she supported me when my birth fam didn't. In my fam girls are middle-named after an older relative. That would be wrong considering, so I chose to honour her instead, she who trusted me with her daughter's happiness and calls me her daughter too

I also chose it because of a story my wife told about a girl she knew whose name the teacher would always sing because it was... You guessed it, Roxanne. (I would have loved that, I hated my deadname). Bonus - finally chose it because I loved to shorten it to Roxy which sounds so cool.

I chose Roxanne for two reasons. Firstly it means Bright, Shining & Radiant. I wanted to express how I felt after living in a dull fog all my life, able to shine at last.
