#BookHistory mutuals, pls do your magic. A student in my seminar is looking for sources on fingerprints in books. Other than Darnton's reference to inky fingerprints left on the plates of the Encyclopedie, & Folger blog posts by @wynkenhimself.bsky.social, I'm short of ideas. Do you have any? THX!

In the meantime—and it's quite possible, I'm advised, that these slimebuckets have closed all their legal loops—I wrote a pretty good book that you can acquire for not a lot of money or take out of the library, and I've been known to answer questions here when people ask me questions.

Also, shout out to Digital Victorian Periodical Poetry for expanding access for students. Another of my students found "The Funeral Boat. A Legend" in the 1829 Forget-Me-Not. Curious about that literary annual? Check out the @rs4vp.org digital event this Friday! {I'll be teaching said student.}

Reminded that there are few more corrosive trends in higher education in recent years than the divide and conquer approach to undermining faculty solidarity by focusing on numbers of majors. Each degree pathway at an institution is strengthened by each other form of expertise available to students.
