Thanks!
Thanks!
I see the conference itself is hybrid. Are posters in-person only?
It probably is worth a try!
I wonder if I could do this (either wet or dry) with gloves. I have eczema, so no exfoliating for me.
I've always wanted to try spinning flax, but the wetting thing has stopped me.
That looks like a fun spin and a fascinating workshop!
This is so fun! If I was still teaching, this would 1000% make its way onto a MedRen or Brit Lit survey syllabusπ
My OE is rusty--I'm on fairly solid ground through 1200, but 1100 I've got only the *gist* of what is being said

I have had exactly one Christmas pudding in my life. It was fun to light on fire...not that tasty to eat. Is this because I ordered it online and got a bad one? Or are they all bad? I WANT to like it, but maybe pudding is more about vibes and less about flavor. Sincerely, a pudding-curious American.
On the "three mantras of Long DH" (Futurebuilding DH) from Johannes Burgers:
1) "go slow and build things",
2) "teamwork makes the dreamwork, but nagging helps" (people-first proj management),
3) "love your data like you love yourself" (tech changes, data doesn't; set your data free!). #ACH2025
Thank goodness for summer!

Many data sets held by NOAA are being "retired" in may, including datasets relevant to ocean sciences and climate. If you have need for these data, or are an archivist, it would be good to download this now. PLEASE SHARE WIDELY. www.nesdis.noaa.gov/about/docume...
Check out this op-ed writing workshop that ACH is running, and if you want to summon up some data to reference, look through impact.ach.org for updated info on canceled NEH grants.
An email is on its way out to our members regarding strategies for navigating cuts to federal grant funding. However, we wanted to share that information here as well. We have aggregated information for actions regarding NEH grants, which include broader strategies as well.

Haha. It's a citronella lamp!
A notebook with two watercolor paintings, one of daffodils, the other of a bluebird on a wire, on a patio table cluttered with painting supplies.
Finally! A Sunday warm enough to paint en plein air!

As an #actuallyautistic researcher, I'm delighted to be giving my short presentation Autistic Representation and Advocacy Goals: A Text Analysis at #dh2025 this summer. (I'm attending and presenting virtually.)
Thank you for sharing!

Hand holding watercolor painting of dark pink flowers in a loose, watery style.
Last night's loose, flowy watercolor. I am rapidly running through my paper. Maybe it's time to pick up 2 watercolor sketchbooks (one for me, one for my daughter).
A hand holding paper with dark pink watercolor flowers in a loose, messy style.
There's nothing like loose, messy watercolor to help me let go of perfectionism. Do I like it? I don't know. It was fun to do, and I want to do more.
Congratulations!!
Good luck!!!
These are beautiful!
It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.
Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.
Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
