TL:DR: It's a translator device. It translates human Intention into "words" for the pokemon. Pokemon don't get "captured", they actually agree to the reason you're throwing the ball at them. This is explained in the Black and White games.

If they watch the first episode and think it's kiddy, they are pretty darn immature since it sets the foundation for so many messed up things that happen even in the very first episode.

It's just that you missed out on the factoid that machamp/machoke doesn't actually wear bottoms, that's literally it's skin color.
I've seen the end. I can't support them. There's no reason for me to go further. I love Pokemon. I really do with the bottom of my heart. I just cannot get on board with celebrating tyrants that would use the law to strike down those that would challenge it.
Today is the day where I weaponize the fact that I have a Living Pokedex the strongest to validate my opinions. I'm not going to get Wind and Wave. Not after all the bullshit that PMCi and Nintendo were pulling last year alone. It's out of principle at this point. I'm not even mad. I'm disappointed.
This free advertising is why TPC sells completely broken and craptacular games. Why bother putting effort into any part of it when the artists make free advertisements for it non stop, selling people on it without ever seeing any ACTUAL content?
