Piece I just got finished after like 4 months of not working on it. Really happy with how it turned out. I may do a Yume 2kki piece next if I get around to it.

Mob Psycho 100 II
Our latest group watch. I really like Reigen's arc in this series, but without spoiling too much there's a major rugpull towards the series end I didn't like and I didn't super love the last few eps, felt a bit generic shonen finale for a lot of it. Still overall very good though.
look it'll be the first post in that thread to not feature the word "fun"
which is less an indictment of the movie and more an indictment of my inability to write
Draft post for the media thread for after I see the mario galaxy review, reading: "There's probably a party drug called Star Bits and if you get blitzed on a fistful of those and then spend 90 minutes smashing the Random Article button on the Super Mario Wiki you'll probably have a similar experience to watching The Super Mario Galaxy Movie"
It is, of course, deeply unprofessional to judge a film before you've seen it. Fortunately I'm not a professional, and I suspect this saved draft will save me a little time when I'm adding this to the media thread in a few weeks
Don't make me tap the sign (it is a sign agreeing that the 1993 Mario Bros movie is really fuckin cool)

throwback to that time i put 1-1 into rayman redemption 😔
A google maps view of the area around the Strait of Hormuz, with crude markup showing the 4 steps to successfully clearing the strait: 1. Build up speed 2. Hit Trampoline 3. Cool backflip 4. Nail the landing The boat is illustrated using a clip art yacht, and the trampoline is also just kind of floating there.
wait. wait. everyone hold on. i've solved it
I am apparently at least the third person to point this out oops
This thread is this but real. Turns out they weren't far off

Ready or Not
The sequel's coming out later this month and it looks fun, so I thought I'd better check the original. And yeah, this rules. Really, really fun stupid horror-comedy. Definitely looking forward to the sequel now.

The two films left are Scream 7, which I don't think I could care less about, and Wuthering Heights, which at this point I might just go watch for the giggle
Kind of funny that I had to really debate the value to me of getting a cinema pass a few weeks ago given I since seem to have made it my holy mission from god to 100% complete Going To The Cinema
Looking at the film listings for tonight and I'm like oh wait I've already watched all of these
If I Had Legs I'd Kick You
Christ. Stressful. Very very stressful. Really good though, incredible performance from Rose Byrne, just don't watch it if you don't need your nerves on edge for two hours watching someone under bottomless stress incredibly reasonably completely unravel.

It's manga catch-up time again! I'm getting waaay behind. Time to spam the media thread for a bit (apologies)

Mother's Pride
Pleasant & cosy enough with a fun cast and good performances, but the jokes don't punch like they need to and the story's kinda flat and predictable with a really one-dimensional villain and a side-story (ongoing gag?) about morris dancing that just goes absolutely nowhere. S'alright

"When you're getting your pizza and you dont want the cat to escape out the door" Image is a statue of Ashurbanipal, also known as the Ashurbanipal Monument or the Statue of Ashurbanipal, is a bronze sculpture by Fred Parhad, an artist of Assyrian descent. It is located in the Civic Center of San Francisco, California, in the United States. The 15-foot (4.6 m) statue depicting the Assyrian king of the same name was commissioned by the Assyrian Foundation for the Arts and presented to the City of San Francisco in 1988 as a gift from the Assyrian people. He is holding a lion under his arm and holds out a clay tablet (which looks a bit like a pizza box) in his free hand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue_of_Ashurbanipal_(San_Francisco)
The Bride!
What a weird movie! Certainly a full-throated chaotic mess, I have absolutely no idea if its good or not but I had fun watching it, so I guess that's a recommendation. Weird, weird movie.
The Departed
This kind of movie isn't super my thing, but I enjoyed this. Great cast, been a while since I've seen Jack Nicholson in something and he's here doing his low key completely unhinged thing as well as he always does. Good stuff.
