Interactive resources
With the power of OJS and Quarto, Iβve created a few interactive websites to illustrate trickier statistical concepts when teaching. Check them out (and adapt and copy as much as you want!)
With links to three different websites (accessible at the main link in the post)
Finally got around to adding fancy links to my different interactive teaching websites for showing things like p-hacking, p-value interpretations, and (still-in-draft-form) DAGs at www.andrewheiss.com/teaching/ #rstats #QuartoPub #statsky

A children's hospital is renamed for Dolly Parton and hopes to transform pediatric care in Tennessee
Dolly Partonβs name might inspire full-throated sing-a-longs to her working womanβs anthem β9 to 5,β or evoke memories of thrilling days spent at her Dollywood theme park.
βDolly Parton Childrenβs Hospital did not share how much Parton donated as part of the naming announcement. But Matt Schaefer, its president and CEO, said her support would ensure βevery child who walks through our doors receives the treatment they deserve.ββ
GOD BLESS DOLLY PARTON

In my time at Princeton, we've had several Army officers in our doctoral program. They've all done excellent work.
When this former Princeton undergrad says we're actually teaching them "the enemy's wicked ideology" I have no idea what the hell he's talking about but, of course, neither does he.

The federal government is executing American citizens in the middle of the street for exercising their constitutional right to freedom of speech.
This is tyranny. No free people can accept this kind of government. We need to bring an end to the Trump regime.

To encourage reuse of our data, Pew Research Center, with support from the John Templeton Foundation, invites researchers to submit proposals for new research publications that use one or more of the following datasets (collectively, Datasets) from the Global Religious Futures (GRF) project: Global Restrictions on Religion 2007-2022 dataset. This cumulative dataset includes measures of government restrictions on religion and social hostilities involving religion in nearly 200 countries and territories. Spring 2024 Survey. This dataset includes measures of religion and spirituality in 35 countries. (Comparable data was also collected in 2023 and 2024 for the United States. The downloadable materials which accompany the international dataset include additional information about U.S. data.) Dataset of Global Religious Composition Estimates for 2010 and 2020. Automated Reverse Dependency Checking
Automated, isolated reserve dependency checking, with automatic comparison of the results to the current CRAN checks.
I use it all the time during the #rdatatable release cycle. We have a Gitlab runner that does this but it is so useful to check individual packages or check specific branches of the pkg. If you have a pkg with reverse dependencies, worth checking out

I don't know how I've missed it because it's *right on the documentation home page*, but if you use {glue} for nice string interpolation in #rstats and you have {stringr} loaded (likely through the tidyverse), you can use str_glue() instead of glue::glue() or loading library(glue) glue.tidyverse.org

As I spent more and more of my life under the care of doctors, nurses, and researchers striving to improve the lives of others, I watched as Bobby cut nearly a half billion dollars for research into mRNA vaccines, technology that could be used against certain cancers; slashed billions in funding from the National Institutes of Health, the world's largest sponsor of medical research; and threatened to oust the panel of medical experts charged with recommending preventive cancer screenings. Hundreds of N.I.H. grants and clinical trials were cancelled, affecting thousands of patients. I worried about funding for leukemia and bone-marrow research at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I worried about the trials that were my only shot at remission. Early in my illness, when I
