The sound buffer is filled on the fly and played as is with no buffering. It was just a quick solution to get the sound going but it’s a bit « crunchy ». There are ways for improvement here.

Nice. That’s un a fun way to learn. Wgpu for the graphics and cpal for the sound as I’d like it to be multiplatform at the end.
Thanks. Yes, that’s right. I wrote this emulator a few years ago in Swift. Recently, I decided to learn Rust and porting it was a good way to do it. And once, cleaned up and stabilized, I will certainly release it as open source for anyone interested.
Let there be sound!!
Sound finally added to my Rust port of my Atari 2600 emulator. Well… not perfect yet but a first version.
I couldn’t resist to let you enjoy those beautiful Space Invaders sound FX. That’s music to my ears… well… sort of.

Si Retour vers le futur sortait aujourd’hui, Marty remontrait en 1995… 😭
First milestone reached for the Rust version of my Atari 2600 emulator: Pac-Man works flawlessly (and some other games as well). Next milestone besides fixing this ugly aspect ratio: Sound!
It’s been such a long time… Working again a bit on the Rust port of my Atari 2600 emulator. Still a long way to go but progress have been made 😊
Rammy looks proud of his setup 😄

Well… there have been ups and downs and even some local things like a list called Bloctel. I ended up blocking numbers with specific patterns (which they’re supposes to use). Makes it surely better.
Any kind of asm equivalent you would be aware of ?
I get a least 3 calls a day in France… whatever the regulation, it’s not 1. Respected, 2. Punished. Which makes the regulation kinda useless 😆
How the f# Oblivion is still so buggy 20 years after? It looks like they even ported the bugs… not a single game session without a complete crash.
I was thinking about your second point specifically
That precise moment when the shit hits the fan…
Lab computer couldn’t have a better name 😆
Ah ah thanks. Not grumpy at all, Usenett was fun!
I found my first job on the newsgroups. Does this makes me old?
C’était tellement une légende quand j’étais gamin
Eclipse has a very convenient ssh client to my taste. Besides this, I want to hang myself every day as it’s become a pitiful IDE. Any recommendation for a replacement with a great SSH extension?
Cool! The story is usually what sticks me to a game first. I’m sold! 😆
I’ve been thinking about trying it for over a year now. I guess you think it’s worth it?
Cute! They should end up as tshirts 😊
Oui clairement.
An interesting perspective about vibe coding / no code... Developing without developers has been a fantasy since as long as I can remember (and I'm not getting younger 😆).

Am I the only fool who avoids water in games because being wet while wearing clothes is not a nice sensation?
