it's ranma 1/3 now. due to inflation.
I'm opening up ttrpg consultations once again, but I'm going about it a little differently this time. It'll be two hours for 40USD, and you can reply to this post to sign up. I'll get to as many people as I can.
You'll want to read this whole thread though. There's a developer-wide bonus.
Users hate AI. So tech made it mandatory. Even if you don't use it, it pollutes what you read and how systems make decisions. The computer's hallucinated word is final.
And it needs all of your data to do it.
In the age of no consent, UX exists to normalized complete acquiescence to surveillance:
They have turned this beautiful city into a wasteland. Those who do don’t die from bombs will succumb to unspeakable illness. Most of my close family is in Tehran
Congrats!!
The first deaths announced from the US-Israeli strikes on Iran: dozens of school girls. They hit an elementary school in Hormozgan.
Body count, bro code, etc, etc, all of these are attempts by insecure dudes to stop their partners from having any options when they leave, and I don’t give a care about any of that shit, boy.
401,000 people moving state to state in fear of having legal documents invalidated (KS), jail time for using restrooms (FL, UT), loss of access to adult care (dozens) or youth care (dozens even in D-led states), & the message from “opposition” is still largely “you’re making too big a deal of this.”
i was once too broke to move from one apartment in a building down the hall to another post-breakup. moving isn’t cheap or particularly fun &, by and large, trans people aren’t doing great economically. 401,000 trans people fleeing their governments should be considered a fucking national emergency.
'I don't know anything about that so I have nothing to say' is more than fine to say. I know that we are in an era where everyone is expected by someone to comment on something but you can just not.
The conversations where Ben Shapiro browbeats Gavin Newsom and he sheepishly concedes he doesn’t really believe in the things he says are an example of the conversations they have with the “liberals they know,”
“I don’t like Bad Bunny because I can’t understand Spanish.”
You are WEAK. Weeaboos have been jamming out to songs they don’t understand in Japanese for decades.
I understand getting more people on board is better than not, but if someone announces, “Actually, we’ve always been against this; you should listen to us more,” when changing their minds, I think it is fair to approach their ostensible support gingerly.
Vibe coding is working as expected: it'll kill the open-source, secure, and ideologically maintained alternatives to make sure you have to pay the oligarchs to do anything at all, and they can control what you're allowed to make.

Everything you’re hearing from the Trump administration is a lie. Today was one of the most active days in Northeast since the entire Operation Metro Surge began.
Nothing is changing on the ground in Minneapolis, no matter what headlines Trump and Homan try to create.
it’s Really Good
I’ll repeat anti-woke politics has been an elite backlash dressed in the clothes of populism.
little item for the Senate Dems to ponder: which of the reforms you’re currently floating is going to stop this?
Same deal with the Zuckerbergs when they were pretending to be altruists. Ditto with Bill Gates and his charities. Whenever these guys demand, they maintain control; you can see the play.
Years of being told we had to really squint and read the tea leaves on what has been the most trite white supremacist politics.
4 Black journalists have been kidnapped by the federal government
Anyway congrats to our Free Speech Champions(tm) who helped usher in the most censorious American government since the Palmer Raids
Ahem. I've thought of an idea that will really stick it to those ICE boys: I will make them super-duper triple promise to follow the rules.
Note the problem here. Trump does apparently want to minimize clashes between government security services and protesters. But he doesn’t appear to want those heavily armed government militias to stop doing the things that are causing those clashes in the first place. What’s really going on here is this: Trump is looking to defuse anger among congressional Democrats for purposes that don’t portend a meaningful shift. An administration official gave away the game to Punchbowl News, admitting that these “de-escalatory measures” are about placating Senate Democrats so they don’t seize this moment to demand restrictions on ICE as part of any government funding package. The problem for the White House, Punchbowl reports, is that if Democrats successfully renegotiate new measures, the House might have to pass a new package—the House already passed funding that included money for DHS—and Republicans doubt that’s possible. So the show of de-escalation is about making it easier for Senate Democrats to support appropriations bills that don’t require another vote in the House.
There really seems to be a lot of kayfabe happening right now. Trump is pretending to de-escalate to placate Dems so they don't demand reform, and Dems are making up fake reforms so they can pretend like they made changes while they vote to fund DHS.
the demands schumer laid out, in light of existing rules and current ICE practices, are not a serious effort at modifying ICE’s behavior in any meaningful sense. they’re an attempt to mollify the base with meaningless bullshit without actually changing anything so they can move on to affordability
The dishonest part there is that his enemies are precisely why they’re so keen on pushing him forward. We’re seeing a very cynical and deliberate effort to consolidate hegemonic public opinion around the idea that marginalized communities must be abandoned.
I guess my main issue with people who still believe in capitalism right now is that it’s never been more evident that the endgame of it as a prevailing economic system is empowering people who want to enslave us to sell us subscriptions to our own shackles
