Presentation is everything! ๐

Semi-retired from software development and technical learning design/development (Big Tech - Cloud.) Now contracting and consulting and just enjoying life! Btw, I have my DMs turned all the way off, and I immediately block scammers/grifters.

He'll also be at least a half an hour late.
Dang! Just how BIG he gonna GET?
Looks like it had a bit of a werewolf phase in there.
A very large crochet blanket in shades of brown and brownish grey covers a three-seater couch.
Finished Object Friday - a very large and heavy couch/bed cover I have been working on for about three years now. Bernat Yarnspirations extra-thick blanket yarn, in the color "Leather." Double and half double crochet. That is a three-seater couch in the pic, btw.

A green Pacific Chorus Frog sitting on top of a heater plug in the greenhouse, keeping itself warm during the winter time.
We have had a Pacific Chorus Frog living in our greenhouse for about 4 years now, thriving and growing well, but "disappearing" from view in the cooler season. We didn't know where it went, but now we think maybe we do. We found it camping out on top of one of our covered electric heater plugs!
Or, if you're a woman, "have you tried losing weight?"
She takes her role as Mouth of Sauron seriously!
Thank you for that information, I was not aware. I will not be reading the platform any longer.
Trump is, to some extent, a mirror.
Ah! That explains the most recent mass exodus.
Lake Crescent, Washington, summer of 2025. Biking the lake trail was a real highlight of our year. Teal waters are a famous feature of some of our lakes. The deep water is also incredibly clear.

Little kids understand important things, sometimes, that adults refuse to.
Craggy mountains form a background for a river. Mist rises from the trees as the sun warms the snow.
View up the Sky Valley this morning. The sun broke through the clouds for a while, warming the snow and creating banks of mist and fog.
Merchant, Gunn, and Gunnshy peaks, Skykomish river. Part of the Wild Sky Wilderness area.

A trail leads off into the snowy woods. A sunlit mist hangs in the air.
We had a little bit of snow yesterday evening. This is what our woods looked like this morning.

Our kids are pretty much all 3 hours ahead of us in the US, so we'll just celebrate New Years online with them, and go to bed at our normal time. ๐
A small piece of Preseli Bluestone rock sits on a keyboard in front of a pre-recorded video of Winter Solstice sunrise at Stonehenge.
Happy Solstice! Me and my pet rock, Preseli Bluestone, enjoying our twice-a-year tradition of watching the solstice sun rise at Stonehenge. (Usually as a video, not live, because of time differences).

When we lost our pups, we did the same. It helped both the shelter and us, because seeing pup things around the house all the time would just keep alive the pain of losing them.
I recently installed Linux on my new computer to help me avoid it as much as possible. AI is getting attached to pretty much *everything* these days. (Probably to facilitate clandestine data gathering.)
I'm reading this now and enjoying it immensely!
To be fair, it's more than most cats pay...
We call this being a devout monk of the Order of Following the Mama.
Motherboard fried on my old laptop, so I got a Lenovo Thinkpad. Decided to go with Zorin Linux Pro for the OS instead of Windows 11. Hardware so far has been plug-and-play, and since most of my productivity software is browser-based, no issues there. The few things I need to install work great, too!
So - a Hamburger Salad? All you would need to complete it are some croutons!
I'm sorry, Lisa. It's always so hard to say goodbye.
A tiny banana.
A bowl full of tiny bananas.
The whole bunch of tiny bananas.
The tally of my bananas is in... we grew 12 lbs of bananas in western Washington State in our greenhouse this year. It only took four years to get there! But hey, we did it. And they are tiny, but tasty.

Yes - you should have some.
Green cedar trees mixed with orange-yellow big leaf maples, with a bright blue sky in the background.
View out the window on this blustery, gorgeous fall day.
A bunch of homegrown bananas from Western Washington state sitting in a sink, showing the older fruits at the top of the stem which are beginning to turn yellow. The banana fruits are small but the bunch has at least 60 or more set.
The time has come to cut my bananas! They have lost their angular look, the first row is starting to turn yellow, and one of the fruits has split. Can't wait until they are ripe! (Double Mahoi dwarf Cavendish variety, grown in a greenhouse.)
