Against your will! Yeah. I mean unfortunately I do know lots of folks who pay for chatgpt apps and do all the silly trends. Disappointing. Now I'm excessively spreading the anti-ai info to get through to folks! Bubble's gotta burst soon π€‘

Holiday season? Nah. This the real reason no one's been productive this month.
and I can't believe people actually pay subscription fees to use ai services ππ
AI is a goddamn disaster on every level and every time someone tells me they use ChatGP for something, I immediately lose respect for them.
Happy winter solstice! πβοΈβ¨ www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQol...
What a year! Honestly, I personally & professionally restructured & reprioritized. I started drawing again, did a short design contract with a cannabis company, facilitated a monarch festival, mural project, holiday market, & even started another short design contract with a nature org. Life's goodπ₯°

Just about every article I read about AI is saying that it is making things worse. Why do we continue to invest our hope into it?
screenshot of a post on facebook from Alex Lamoreaux, depicting two versions of the "same" photograph of a bobcat in front of a pine plantation, one labeled original game cam photo, one labeling AI processed the markings have been altered on the AI photo, and the head changed and resized text says: Oh! A neat goose hybrid posted to βWhatβs this Bird?β but when you zoom in on the photos the bill details have been too manipulated by AI photo editing to be accurately assessed for which species may be involved. Scroll onβ¦ A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that itβs impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like. Scroll onβ¦ WOW! Thatβs a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!β¦ but the head looks oddly smallβ¦. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI βpost processingβ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been βcreatedβ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We canβt even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.
this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing
these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous
this is worth sharing and educating people about
Designer-affirming moment: Correctly guessing the fonts on a branded advertisement π
Dude acting like he doesn't publicly complain and denounce the DBIA org online and get people riled up. I appreciate someone changing their mind after being given more information, but weird to act like he isn't a large part of how this is communicated to the public.
I'm on it!
Maybe I just have to test it out for a period, or get some more longer term client/agency freelancing going to really see. That's good to hear that some businesses didn't notice a negative impact!
Are there still ways to run a business or freelance without social media? Is they key just boundaries and balance? Or is it still possible to go quite offline and still get work? Asking for ME.
