No, sometimes, the idea of what is going to happen in my head doesn't match what happens, and that's because I didn't adequately describe what I was expecting. It's a problem of realizing that the other person and I weren't fully understanding each other.

I've found that, often, my disappointment stems from un-communicated expectations. My first step, now, when disappointed is to interrogate myself. Then vow to be better at communicating next time. It's hard to do that in the midst of emotion.
