Gene Clark is woefully under-appreciated in the US.
As a US guy in my late 50s who hangs around with musically engaged people, many of us got worn out on The Who, particularly things like “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” which got played to death on American classic rock radio. But I grew up spinning Who’s Next over & over & I think it has aged very well.
Love this album! Starts one of the greatest 5 album runs of any artist.
Fortunate to live near the Capital Theater & see the Toy Factory Project. Amazing how well the Marshall Tucker Band’s music has aged. It has a kind of expensiveness, improvisational groove, and flexibility of genre akin to the Allman Brothers or the Grateful Dead. Don’t miss this!
