Cover of “Math Tasks for the Thinking Classroom - Grades K-5” book.
Green border, different color icons at the bottom of student stick figures solving math problems in front of a whiteboard.
Long shot BUT does someone have the HS version of this that they’d be willing to swap for the K-5 version? I bought this and never needed it.

Alt: a woman is crying while holding a napkin in front of a box that says i love you
Currently going through old blog posts again from the last 15ish years & remembering what a life line that was for professional growth & community. I remember how I felt reading them for the first time (& implementing them). I also hear your voices & see your faces as I read them.🫶

I find that many of those who feel that way LEARNED it that way and never got to experience joy/wonder/beauty/discovery on their own. I’m grateful for those who build opportunities into professional learning for educators to see it from a new perspective. 🥹

Four large rounded tiles arranged in a two-by-two grid on a light grid-pattern background. Hobonichi Weeks page encouraging user to write down common measurements proportional to their size (including icons). Ex: thumb to pointer finger, thumb to pinkie, elbow to longest fingertip, heel to toe (with and without shoes), stride when walking normally , wingspan. Also includes sizes of common items like credit cards (3.4”x2.1”), A4-size paper (8.3”x11.7”), letter size paper, Hobonichi Techo Weeks cover (3.7” x 7.4”).
Has a ruler in cm down the right hand side of the page.
Just noticed this page in the back of my Hobonichi weeks planner. Would be a cool idea for students to use in class (if I was still teaching middle school) at beginning, middle, and end of year (since most of them, unlike me, GROW in their teens😆) for data, percents, etc. (except for bare feet🤢).

Frankenstein pixel art.
We have some fun Halloween themed patterns you can collect in Tile Farm Harvest this week. Here is one built in Tile Farm Studio by a 2nd grader from Albuquerque, NM. It’s a beautiful design, but also has a lot of underlying math in it.
