Knowing baseball players, their politics are probably equally atrocious, but at least they're doing cute bits and not making me actively think about it!
Six+ months in, it has gotten no less silly every time I see trios of armed National Guardsmen ambling down the sidewalks in Shaw on a Saturday morning past people who are out walking their dogs and picking up lattes and artisan breads.
it feels like a lot of Dems are suddenly trying "we can run a robust social safety net by only taxing rich people and corporations" messaging and that is
a) not a great message, in that we should all contribute
b) not actually true, math-wise

Agreed, I would like to see more focus on places with threats to pedestrians and cyclists for sure.
(to be clear, you're right about the geographic distribution and there should be a lot more in upper NW as well)
As someone who lives (and walks and bikes and drives) in NE and knows how dangerous the drivers can be, I'd like to see a lot more of them. For instance I'd love some in my neighborhood, where people are constantly blazing down side streets and rolling through stop signs.
The animosity towards traffic cameras is ridic.
If you get a ticket, you broke the law. DC’s traffic cameras are extremely generous (only ticket at 10mph over, for example).
Drive slower. Come to complete stops. Wait for a green light.

Urban biking is all about expecting the unexpected from drivers while yourself trying to be as transparent and predictable as possible
I truly love to
- drive the speed limit
- fully stop for stop signs & pedestrians trying to cross
- not turn right on red
on DC neighborhood streets while some SUV with Virginia plates tailgates me and I can feel their blood boiling
Another reason that abortion ban "exceptions" and claims that bans won't affect people who miscarry, etc. are false comfort: once the end of a pregnancy can be criminalized, they're going to arrest people for it and blow up their lives and then look for a legal basis later.
