Cool story, but not a great script. And really boring music in comparison to the LotR soundtracks, which are so very much on my mind, in Rohan especially.

Other than Brian Cox, who is fantastic as Helm, the performances are pretty flat. And the animation felt quite stiff and flat as well. The backgrounds had lots of depth and detail and the characters had relatively little - it made for a strange aesthetic.

Unlike in the Hobbit movies, this one makes it fun to be back in Jackson's Middle Earth. I always liked Rohan in the movies, especially their theme music.

But overall War of the Rohirrim, this is a disappointment.
