I am really impressed with this AI-generated podcast summary of our recent paper! Thanks to @dpn-journal.bsky.social for sharing it! These excerpts can be really useful when you are in a time crunch (grant deadline!) but still want to know the take home message of a study.

Is there a brain circuit target for restoring consciousness after brain injury? New work by @rolstonjohn.bsky.social @braincircuits.bsky.social says yes!
This is unbelievable!
For more details, check out the paper which includes sensitivity analyses of whole-brain vs. cortex-wide connectivity and a comparison of site-specific vs. site-independent models. Many thanks to all our co-authors and participants! @agoneill.bsky.social @sneuroble.bsky.social
That is, two factors typically associated with cognitive ability in the early psychosis population contributed to misprediction in individuals who do not fit this profile.
4. The models did not accurately predict cognitive outcomes for everyone. We examined whether any clinical/demographic factors were associated with tendency to be misclassified. We found parental socioeconomic status and duration of antipsychotic medication use to be associated with misprediction.
Default mode and somatomotor networks appeared to be the most critical for high prediction accuracy as their removal significantly worsened the predictions.
3. While important connectivity features were widespread, we identified several key networks that were essential for accurate predictions using virtual lesioning.
2. The models we built successfully predicted working memory performance in an independent early psychosis cohort supporting their generalizability to different samples and cognitive domains.
1. Using functional imaging data from the Human Connectome Project for Early Psychosis, we found that connectomic models can accurately predict broad cognitive functioning in individuals with early psychosis.
Excited to share our latest research on predictive models of cognitive functioning in early psychosis, now out in @dpn-journal.bsky.social rdcu.be/epkaQ
NSF, NASA and NIH budgets per year, inflation adjusted from 2000-2025 along with the proposed cuts. NSF includes research component only. Massive cuts across all sectors, well below support spanning 25 years.
How bad will it be? Catastrophic.
Proposed cuts to #NSF, #NIH, and #NASA will set the US R&D landscape back 25 yrs+, cause economic and job loss now, and undermine innovations to come.
But, this is the WH's *proposed* budget.
Speak up now before it is too late.

I'm trying to make something- if your university is on the list, could you post here with your school's most famous public-facing discovery?
e.g. for University of Pittsburgh: Salk polio vaccine

Musk is unilaterally wrecking the government from within and lining his own pockets. Get him out, terminate his access to all government systems. If you can't rally the public against a cartoonishly corrupt bond villain who's stealing from them in plain sight then get out of politics
Sorry we can't hire you right now, we have to figure out how mad the government is at us.
How is this real life.
