Funny how you have to go to Scotland to see them in the UK but you can see them just across the channel in France!
One of my favourite reserves, feel like I’m in Scotland. Back in August looking for Nightjar I heard a Goshawk calling. Needless to say afterwards no more signings of Nightjars.

Had two sightings on Dartford marshes recently.
Last night out looking for Nightjars. Just after 9 had churring and a fly over. 9.20 heard a raptor calling, suspect Goshawk, never heard one before and the nightjars all went quiet. Hung around for about half an hour and no more nightjars? Do Goshawks hunt at night?

Love to see a Grey Phalarope in breeding condition. Lucky enough to see Wilson’s in breeding plumage.
