How can a more flexible, inclusive, and transparent European standardization system drive digital SMEsβ competitiveness? This was the key question at the European DIGITAL SME Alliance Summit where Andreea Gulacsi, Director of Policy & External Affairs at CEN and CENELEC, took part in the insightful panel discussion. Some key highlights from the discussion: β Standards create competitiveness They enable economies of scale, market access, and interoperability, while fostering innovation and creating a competitive advantage for EU SMEs. β SMEs at the Core SMEs are the backbone of Europeβs resilience and independence. Their participation in standardization improves standards and ensures they remain technology-neutral and innovation-friendly. β Inclusivity Matters The European Standardization System is among the most inclusive globally, but there is always room for improvement. By reinforcing inclusivity, we can ensure that standards truly work for SMEs. β Benefit of participation Taking part in standardization is a strategic long-term investment for SMEs.
