Good words of warning here. AI models are generally designed to read and incorporate (and, in a sense, believe) virtually everything they find online, with very few guardrails. The information can get divorced from its original source, context, & rebuttals or retractions. That's a really big problem

Yes I see. I’m in the uk and we have the BBC and you can usually find something new on evening radio. I grew up listening to John Peel who played a lot of indie but also reggae and hip hop. Even spoken word pieces from Ivor Culter and Vivian Stanshall

UK Treasury unsure about joining Β£1.7B program it is funding : It promised Β£1.15B… but finance ministry yet to show 'formal commitment' to adopt Workday SaaS, watchdog says

HM Treasury agreed to Β£1.15B funding for a UK tech project it was supposed to join. The business case was predicated on it joining. And now, it's like, "maybe later" potentially jeopardising savings for other depts. Welcome to the world of UK.gov shared services www.theregister.com/2026/03/06/u...

The particulars of the claim are available to those who know where to find them. Total shared service plan across government has so far contracted around Β£2 billion in software and services to manage HR/finance for 470,000 civil servants.

BY ME! some of our readers are saying this is sour grapes from the losing incumbent. I get that, but in my experience the losing side doesn’t go to court for fear of creating bad blood with a government that will present plenty more opportunities www.theregister.com/2026/02/27/s...
