Pretty happy two people have noticed the Soundgarden riff in today's video.
I usually never play other people's songs in videos for fear of getting demonetized, but today I tried to live instead of falling on black days.
Chris wrote 95% of the songs, so Kim sure has a big ego about the songwriting in this interview. Anyway, EEBBBe confirmed. (and again, Chris wrote the songs in this tuning)
oh wait according to a sourceless wikipedia entry it's in EEBBBe and not EEBBBB
this does make more sense because EEBBBe is a known Soundgarden tuning
either way I'm not bothering

imagine tuning your guitar to basically a power chord and then writing a hit song and going on your merry way like everything is normal

Not for nothing but apparently Chris Cornell really struggled with songwriting and Fell On Black Days had been floating around for years before he finally figured it out. The demo, for example, is wildly different
I'm not sure why I didn't learn more Soundgarden songs growing up. I guess I never felt like tuning my one guitar to EEEEBB or EEEEBE or BAGDAD or DAGDAD or EEEDAD or DEEBAD or BADEEE
the intro/verse/chorus riff, of course ... but the bridge riff is cool as heck too
Learning the songs of my youth and Fell On Black Days by Soundgarden is probably the best riff ever invented
