Great time at BFI Southbank yesterday! The newest restoration of Doctor Who: Spearhead from Space, for The Collection Season 7 on Blu-ray next month. Great laughs, on-stage talks & amazing friends. Back at the end of Feb for The Savages premiere. These really are the best TV Blu-rays in the business
@petercrockersvs.bsky.social Hi Peter, I enjoyed your talk/demonstration at BFI yesterday. I saw you in the bar afterwards & I'd have said hello, but you were deep in conversation! Looking forward to S7. Is there any scope for the split-screen demo to be put online in the future? It was fascinating.
That head is definitely my favourite of the revived series. Love the slightly retro look
It's a little strange, I was pretty sure it would be nailed on for UHD. Unless whatever deal has been struck between the BBC and Netflix gives Netflix exclusivity on that?
A Cyberman head wearing an uncharacteristically festive hat
Even this grumpy scrooge is getting into the spirit... Merry Christmas!
So much fun watching Doctor Who at the Proms on BBC Two earlier. I was there back in August but this was almost like seeing it for the first time - again. On iPlayer for at least the next 11 months; I'm hoping it'll find a home on the Blu-ray of the next season, too! www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...
This looks awesome as ever, and I'm aching to know what they've done for the restoration of Silurians and Ambassadors! And Inferno to a lesser extent. I'm expecting technical voodoo and wizardry
I definitely haven't hypothetically seen something stunning, but when it officially comes out I'll be sure to say how hypothetically stunning it looks.
Been a while since we've had one of these! Looking forward to having The Savages on my shelf! Another gap filled. youtu.be/qtDr690U7PM
I met Jodie Whittaker! At the stage door following The Duchess. She was in a massive rush but still squeezed the time to take photos with everyone.
Why do I always travel to London during named storm events? ๐คฃ Heading to see not one but TWO plays today. The Importance of Being Ernest starring Ncuti Gatwa followed by The Duchess with Jodie Whittaker. Trains to London are usually rammed but this one started at my station, so was empty... bliss!
First ever time at Wembley! Amazing place. England v USA women's friendly, kickoff 5.20pm. What a view! #lionesses
I have one, too. It's just stunning. The box and the coloured buttons ๐
I am unashamedly ready to dive into full-on festive mode this weekend. Give me unlimited Chris Rea, Elton John and Slade.
I'm doing both of those in one day, next month!
๐ฅ REWIND | Imagine all the meetings it took to come up with this tagline.
Two new BBC Blu-rays turned up today... The Box of Delights with new documentary by @chrischapman81.bsky.social, and the UHD Wallace & Gromit Collection. Plenty to get stuck into over Christmas!
Dean screaming in the trial... #imaceleb
This was my autograph haul from Riverside yesterday. A pretty good day's work! Thanks @dwasonline.bsky.social
Me with Derek Martin (Charlie Slater)
I met this EastEnders legend at Riverside today!
Wonderful!
Happy Doctor Who Day! I'm off to the Recall UNIT event at Riverside Studios in a bit, as long as the trains are working...
Oh my word.
PlayStation 30th Anniversary. Although the limited edition consoles were gorgeous, I resisted the temptation to buy a whole other PS5 because that would probably be insane. I did bag a limited ed controller though. I didn't realise it comes in a retro PS1 style box ๐
This was the Windows 11 weather widget on my work PC earlier. Aside from the fact it was very inaccurate (not a single flake of snow was seen), erm... I get the feeling there's a sloppy bit of code telling it to change "fall" to "autumn". That worked well...
I can't remember which company it is, but there's a radio ad for motorbike insurance atm: "You know why you love being a biker, and having to sort out your bike insurance isn't one of them"... Doesn't make sense. It's like two different scripts have been melded together. I sound like such a grump ๐คฃ
I gather those yellow 2 idents aren't always well-loved. Maybe it's my childhood nostalgia, but I love them!
It's been so heavily assumed for so long, I'd forgotten that it wasn't already confirmed for Christmas Day! The wording is a little confusing though - is it still a midnight UK drop? Or does BBC One get the premiere this time?
"No More Rice and Beans" for Christmas number 1 #imaceleb
