A reet proper toybox - my photo gallery of a trip around the Midland Air Museum at Coventry Airport #MAM #Coventry #FrankWhittle youtu.be/hTSFck3bh6s
doh... just realised there's 36 lancers, a general and 4 LH - which doesn't add up to 52!

52 Avar/Sarmatian Cavalry going on eBay - making room for the camels in my Bisley storage ! ebay.us/m/tZ1aG6
It's just a straightforward crosshatch pattern - it "looks like" a checked keffiyeh when it's on a 15mm figure at tabletop distances, but probably more as that's what your eye expects to see .. and attempting actual checks would have looked really rubbish anyway!
Almost done with these Red Copper Camelry #3DPrint #15mm #wargames
I'm talking about going back maybe 20-25 years - at one point a tank was simply a tank in PBI...
Its when they started introducing different grades of gun and armour around 2005 is where it started to go off piste !
I enjoyed playing it immensely back in the day, but I also have a strong suspicion that every edition of PBI has gotten a little more complex and a little less playable.
(Perhaps these two things are linked... now, that'd be a first for the evolution of Wargame rules eh?!)
Numidians at War...fare.
5 batreps from Warfare 2025 now on the website at www.madaxeman.com/reports/Warf...
Based on wargamesabi know, Iβm pretty sure the Venn diagram of βwargamersβ and βpeople who like juvenile stuff with a war themeβ is actually kinda circular π

Put down the egg-nog, step away from the mince pie, hold onto your jingle bells and brace yourself for another vaguely interesting edition of my regular end of year update on competition attendances for Ancients mass-battle rulesets in the UK. madaxemandotcom.blogspot.com/2025/12/who-...
Hubertus Bigend distributing Panorama to US TV networks wasnβt on my 2025 bingo card β¦ #GreatDismal
Just seen this on FB. Bonkers-amazing stuff for anyone wanting to design and print out medieval shields!

Tiny tanks on table last night at #CLWC. Whilst it feels somehow unclean to say so, itβs our 2nd bash at Team Yankee and β¦ itβs actually quite entertaining
Really good - great coverage. The Demonic Yellow is the first yellow Iβve ever bought that actually covers properly in one coat - Iβve even been tempted to buy some of the 6-part βtriadsβ (through Amazon)
The Numidians have been at Farnborough this weekend...
There are a few places where the top edge of the sail has a small slit cut into it, but the whole piece is so visually complex to look at I donβt think anyone will ever notice !
And so the French Navy now has a pair of 1st Rates !
The annoying thing is that I think Iβm gradually getting better at this.. whilst each ship I complete makes me even more convinced that I never want to have to do another set of rigging ever again! #BlackSeas
Only the really really fun bits of this build left to do now π€₯π«ππ± #blackseas #rigginghell
Nice !
Last one, I promise β¦ #blackseas
5 Video Batreps from the Kegworth Codgers event now posted, with the Berbers in #15mm #ADLG action against a variety of Feudal foes.
The reports also include tracks from a number of Medieval-themed Metal bands, none of which you will of heard of before π

Achieving stand-alone global leadership is not to be sniffed at !
Donβt knock yourself - βOnceβ may be a joint world record for one of those βall in a boxβ naval games !
That unfortunately doesnβt get around the not insignificant fixed cost of replacing a spin cast mold - which then has to be amortized over future sales of that figure set. Thatβs the barrier thatβs getting harder to get over for many older and low volume manufacturers nowadays
βWantβ, βneedβ and βcould make good use ofβ have always been semantically challenging words and phrases to differentiate when translated into wargamer !
.. the maths will simply fail to add up as many smaller, older "heritage" ranges age. 3D scanning may be our only chance to some classic sculpts alive.
I just hope it develops fast enough that some companies can do it commercially for complete ranges rather than individuals pirating the odd figure
