Drawing on theoretical & literary texts by, Walter Benjamin, Mahmoud Darwish, Jacques Derrida, Judith Butler, & Eyal Weizman, the lecture argues that 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑟𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑦 functions as a manual for reading history in moments of danger—understanding, analysing, and resisting the genocide in Gaza.

Guided by Fazal Sheikh’s monumental photographic work 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑟𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑦 (2015), the lecture examines how this project addresses the Israel–Palestine conflict and the ongoing effort by the Israeli side to erase both the violence exercised in this conflict and the very acts of erasure themselves.
