im very lucky to have queer friends irl, and i agree ppl who can should really cherish relationships like these and not let them to to waste. but at the same time the only reason i felt comfortable enough coming out to them was the kindness that other trans ppl ive met online showed me

i get what u mean overall but i think it's reductive a bit. it's important to form friendships irl when possible but friends online can still be a source of a lot of love and understanding no matter how far away they are. both are good, having friends online just shouldn't prevent seeing irl ones :p

hii, a bit late compared to all the other replies but i was scrolling through langsky and found this post!! i recently started learning japanese (combing through pronunciation specifics at the moment…) and would b delighted to have contact with a native speaker to clear stuff up from time to time ＾＾

obviously its unreasonable to expect people to pronounce them identically to a native speaker; its fine not to! some phonemes are hard to learn if youve never said them before! but i find in most cases the words are mostly made up of sounds with equivalents in english, its really just a lack of care

i can somewhat excuse it if they come across the world in the wild (though,,, still.. itd only take like 2 seconds to look up) but what Especially hurts is if they make a whole vid about some foreign subject and dont bother to look up how 2 pronounce it!!! arghhhhjjjhhh
