Useful critique of Thames Water -caught in an extortionate 9.75% interest debt spiral. But bizarre to ignore taking it back into public ownership, in a sector that will never meet free market rules while also prioritising the public & protecting the environment

Taking Thames Water back into public ownership would cost the government nothing and could be reinvested into infrastructure under a 'bail in' provision

This is a disgraceful situation - too many NEW homes are not being built with good insulation, damp, poorly ventilated and failing to protect young families from harm. Plus it costs so much to address retrospectively. The #NewHomesOmbudsman needs proper weight to hold constructors to account!

Sick buildings - new builds, retrofits and the damp and mould crisis Many people would naturally associate damp and mould with older homes. But new homes and retrofits can also be seriously impacted.

A lot of people would naturally associate damp and mould with older, poorly maintained homes. But actually the way we build and retrofit can create these problems or make them worse:

UK weather: Flood warnings in place as UK braces for more rain With more rain in the forecast, BBC Weather presenter Simon King looks at what's been causing the very wet year so far.

Meanwhile planning policy is being changed to make it easier to build homes in areas at risk of flooding (in new NPPF being consulted on and change in "sequential test" from last autumn).

One change in the draft NPPF is especially worrying in relation to the nation’s health: it weakens the policy basis for tackling health inequalities.

This is happening when legislation, devolution reforms & health strategy & policy are pulling in the opposite direction.

Plants, puddles and possibility: the importance of natural play for children

When we talk about outdoor play for children, many people picture swings or slides.

But what about 'natural play'? Splashing in puddles & making dens can nurture children's creativity, resilience & build connection to nature.

This webinar explores why it matters:
