I think it would work if it remembered that the experiences are universal. Less about trying to modernize. I was working at Domino's during high school around 2000 and it was crazy how real it felt to my life. Not surprising coming from Crowe and Heckerling. Cheaper to film since malls are dead.

If there is no intentionality behind what is being shown, it's just a revenue stream, you'd at least think people would see that as a creative space to film animals and their neighborhood and dumb shit. Or really play up how uncomfortable the people on screen are. If you feel it's a necessary evil.
