A Missouri Representative has filed a bill to track pregnancies in the state.
HB 807 will: "Maintain a central registry of each expectant mother who is at risk for seeking an abortion of her unborn child and make the same available to a prospective adoptive parent who has completed screenings."
TL;DR
Young students brain not working as expected after COVID-19 infections.

This is the national threat to abortion access that I would be focusing on. The extremist judge in Texas who ruled to strip FDA approval from mifepristone (the first of two medications used for medication abortion) in 2023 just revived the case with new plaintiffs, and it's likely headed to SCOTUS.
Iβm not saying this bill doesnβt matter because it does normalize abortion bans and spread abortion stigma + disinformation.
However, itβs important for folks to know that this particular bill has been introduced by every Congress since 2011.
Unnecessary panic and fear harms abortion seekers.
Iβm A LOT more worried about the fact that Trump just released 23 anti-abortion terrorists and basically said that the DOJ will not enforce the FACE Act (which made violence against abortion clinics a federal crime) than I am about them removing a do-nothing website.

Itβs impossible not to be angry when people have been saying this was coming for years. We knew this was all coming. Why canβt we just do something about it for once? Why do we have to keep repeating the same warnings until it happens?
"The systemic neglect of menstruation and a restricted notion of evidence, which led to dismiss subjective symptoms, laypeopleβs reports and mixed-methods research, contributed to eclipsing links between menstrual disorders and immunization...
I'm excited to see this paper, "Entangled evidence: epistemic injustice and systemic neglect in the assessment of menstrual disorders following COVID-19 vaccines" b/c it focuses on structural & epistemic issues, going beyond simple "women's health is understudied"

I'd also suggest listening to this episode of ACCESS, from 2020, to hear abortion providers and clinic escorts describe in their own words how terrifying this kind of violence can be, at the hands of a movement whose members have committed murder: www.apodcastaboutabortion.com/episodes/epi...

I was interviewed by @msjpauly.bsky.social for @motherjones.com regarding that awful gamete size "sex" executive order. A bit of an explainer here of why the science is so bad, and why that's dangerous:
>run on making eggs less expensive
>withdraw from the WHO and hobble the CDC as a bird flu pandemic brews across the country
>eggs get more expensive
Studies note higher risk of long COVID in women, differences among minority kids
Overall, 21% of women and 16% of men reported long COVID.

Oh yes OK! Iβm always just left wondering when it comes to extra funky pregnancy stuff because Iβm likeβ¦ hmm the uterine lining and contents donβt stay put after
Birth and I never find explanations that include that fact π
This is so fascinating to me but I still wonder how it would be possible in humans as we shed our uterine lining, unlike most animals? Where would the embryo βgo dormantβ?

Antiabortion advocates look for men to report their partners' abortions Boyfriends and husbands can have uniquely personal and specific information necessary to help surface new lawsuits in states with abortion bans.
This partner-focused approach will shift to a more public phase next month when Texas's largest antiabortion organization launches an advertising campaign on Facebook and X to reach the husbands, boyfriends and sex partners of women who have had abortions in the state - with the goal of recruiting them to file lawsuits against those who assisted the women in ending their pregnancies.
Anti-abortion advocates are running ads to find & encourage men to betray and sue their partners. This makes me sick. wapo.st/40nfmD2
