Pubs I didn’t get the chance to stop into today - The Pineapple, The Devereux and The Town of Ramsgate.
Bits of London visited today - Bazelgette Embankment, Temple Place Cabmen’s Shelter, Two Temple
Place, King Henry’s Stairs.
Sat here at the Prospect of Whitby watching a couple drink their Guinness through straws.
Buy a Sekonda it will fill you with gladness.
Annoyed myself with spending time working out that the pub in the SNL UK teaser is the Dog & Bell, Deptford.
Enjoying one of life’s great low key pleasures, a left over onion bhaji.
Second time this has come up this week after it was also mentioned on the @deserterblog.bsky.social podcast.
A tip top boozer. Lovely to read a write up by @willhawkes.bsky.social on a personal favourite that holds quite a few memories for me.
Hands up if you love the Sutton Arms, Clerkenwell!
@willhawkes.bsky.social takes us to one of London's finest boozers, where good beer is served perfectly and the pies are 👌🏻👌🏻

Mick name checked me I think second or third time I went in which just floored me/made me fall in love with the place. We’d have a chat about the football and exchange a ‘see yer later’ on my way out. Top pub.
A long time favourite. I got to know it as my old office was 15secs walk from the pub, heaven, eventually I got talking to Mick and then Jack as he began to do more beers. I wish I was still based in Clerkenwell so I could go in far more regularly.
Plaque to the founder of Dulwich Hamlet FC, Lorraine ‘Pa’ Wilson outside the ground.
@deserterblog.bsky.social well
I was certain that it was James not Dirk. Also, a bloke who drinks in The Fox his son is the buyer at Selfridges of those chocolate/crisp concoctions. I’ll have a word next time I see him.
Forgot this one from @streathamrovers.bsky.social
Beautiful! Cheers.
Little secret jaunt around the men’s bogs at Dulwich Hamlet FC has dug up some sticker gold. Wish I were connected enough to pitch, let alone write a piece on this subculture which has become an obsession over the last 6yrs. Luckily pubs 🤝 football stickers means I’m always well fuelled.
Found this interesting. Not a massive lover of the beer mile, would rather duck out to The Victoria on Page’s Walk, but sounds like hard work when you’re a hostage to fortune - £20k in takings on a busy Saturday but you could be overrun with some of the worst people in the world.
Absolutely leathered 10mins later.
Denmark Hill cat on the cans and tabs early doors.
Two kinds of salvation at Denmark Hill station.
Train like you rave? Mashed off your face after too many 💊, talking cobblers to a bike courier from Nuneaton about how we should definitely make a record next week and start a juice-cum-laser quest bar? Like that?
Chekhov’s pint.
Some very Sean Dyche/Athletico Mince sponsors for the Mansfield v Arsenal FA Cup tie: Bolts, sealants, vodka.
Hurrah! Enjoy.
Good article about London's breweries based in railway arches and the behaviour of our landlord:

I know football crowds are full of all sorts but what with the Spurs supporters piling out at half time the TV cameras have been free to roam about, finding some astounding specimens of humanity.
And a bang up job you did to.
