There is one word that explains how so many men can be in the Epstein files. So why is no one saying it?

An innovative approach supercharges the innate immune system to provide a first line of defence against respiratory infections.

Hand holding a blueberry + banana smoothie in the foreground. Tv on in the background. The screen shows a dark haired man in a smoothie shop talking to a man in a yellow shirt with a black apron that says βBerry + Strawβ who is standing behind the counter.
If you know you know.
A screen shot from the Garmin app showing my βbody batteryβ is at 17 out of 100. The text below reads: Stressful day Today has been stressful. On days like this, try to take relaxation breaks and make time for some physical activity. You can focus now on winding down before bedtime to help improve your sleep quality.
Oh has it been stressful? I hadnβt noticedβ¦
What happens when my body battery hits zero? Is that even possible?
The low winter sun is definitely a problem but if you cannot see you slow way down and use your hand to block the sun.
While accidents do happen, many would be prevented if drivers would slow down and make sure they can see before they turn. A half an hour later and kids would be biking to school.
Itβs more crazy if you know this street. There is absolutely no reason to be going over 20mph here. This is in a neighborhood where most of the streets dead end.
It isnβt that cars in this area donβt see you. The drivers donβt even look.
Today I taught a 9th grader how to use a binder clip. Took five seconds. Not a big deal. But I am constantly surprised by the things we think are normal and yet children have never experienced them.
Today it was a binder clip. Who knows what it will be tomorrow.
I love these Cole Haan oxfords. They are comfy for teaching all day.

For the last four years I have affirmatively asked my GP what vaccines I can get during my annual appointment. Never once was the HPV vaccine mentioned.
Finally started the sequence last month when my gynecologist mentioned it is available until I turn 45.
Give me all the shots. Hoe or otherwise.
Post a photo of what you bake with them so we can all drool over it.
Inside of a three layer cakes made with baking strips. The three chocolate layer are of equal sizes and level. The icing is biscoff cookie flavored.
You need cake baking strips. They wrap around the pan keeping the edges from cooking too fast while the center rises. The result is flat cakes right out of the oven.
The layers in the cake below were not leveled but rather cooked with baking strips.

Did you enjoy the movie or read the book? Or both?
Box of Maldon sea salt. The box has a green boxed pattern with a white diamond shaped center portion with the Maldon name/logo.
Safeway or any big grocery store. They come in a box like this. One box lasts a very long time.
Itβs my third batch this season. Somehow we keep running out of them. Iβve decided a serving size is 3 palm sized cookiesβ¦now that I think about it, that might be the problem.

Have you tired Maldon sea salt flakes? They are my favorite for adding a touch of salt at the end of baking.
Soft round gingerbread cookies arranged in a grid on a piece of parchment paper. The cookies are drying after having just been glazed with a thin mixture of water and powdered sugar.
Require? No. But a light glaze makes them perfect.
Coloring sheet for nucleic acids
One more coloring sheet for the last of the biomolecules.
You arenβt more susceptible because you have had Covid before or because you were vaccinated. But you might be more susceptible in that some peopleβs trained immune system cells donβt βlearnβ quite as well as others and/or donβt stick around as long just waiting to go on offense. Itβs just bad luck.
All this to say. It sucks that you have Covid again. Iβm sorry you arenβt feeling well and I hope you recover quickly.
But immunity just means you have cells that recognize the virus and can mount an attack. It doesnβt mean you can mount the attack fast enough to fight off the virus before you get sick.
Having Covid previously means your immune system cells have been trained to fight off the infection. But those cells seem not to stick around as long as the cells trained by the vaccine.
The combo (vaccine and prior infection) means you should have some immunity.
The virus has been mutating a lot since the vaccines were developed. While the vaccines are still effective, your immune system cells arenβt great at recognizing the virus so you can still end up getting sick. You should be better off than someone who is unvaccinated as their cells have no training.
Additionally, the training immune system cells can die off over time, resulting in less and less immunity until there is no immunity at all. Booster shots are necessary once the trained cells start to die off.
If the part of the spike protein that the vaccine trained your immune system for changes a little bit then your response time slows down. With enough changes to the spike protein, your immune system may not recognize it at all and the vaccine will be ineffective.
Vaccines work by training immune system cells to recognize the virus, thus reducing the time it takes for your body to respond to an exposure. The Covid vaccine trains your immune system to recognize a portion of the spike protein. But, the spike protein changes rapidly due to random mutations.
It takes time for the immune system to recognize the virus and mount an attack. Prior infection leaves behind immune system cells that are already trained to recognize the virus, reducing the time it takes to mount an attack. If you can mount an attack fast enough you donβt actually get sick.
Viruses replicate inside your cells. Sometimes, if you have been infected with the virus before, or you have had a vaccine, your immune system is able to destroy the viruses before they damage enough cells to be noticeable and before other parts of your immune system kick in resulting in symptoms.
But I see students work hard every day. But they have to be interested and invested. The struggle is finding the passion and cultivating it.
College and your entry level jobs are a means to an end. An end that is increasingly failing to be reached even with that college degree.
Young people used to work hard to get into college or to move up the ranks at their entry level job. But today, they are no longer incentivized to work hard in these spaces in part because we have failed to maintain the American dream.
Itβs a mistake the public makes to think that young people donβt do the work because itβs to hard. It isnβt that students donβt want to do difficult things. They do.
I have 9th graders doing incredibly difficult scientific thinking and writing. But not all of them and not most of them.
