We're with Anney, Greyspear, Hope and the Chief as they ride out to meet this foe, in a chapter named, 'Parleyness.'
Books are an interesting consideration in Rimworld, as there's every suggestion that not everyone has been taught to read, survival tends to take priority. So books being exotic makes sense that way, as not everyone can use them, if you think about settings and situations.

I write lots of smut into my plots, and don't have any issues, at all.
Think of elements like Vanilla Expanded clothing then, so everyone is not dressed like a cowboy, or wearing identical caveman garb.
Bad Hygiene for toilets and cleanliness.
Vegetable garden to improve growing, farming and food options.
(Both are minor to TTRPG, yeah, but both are elements that should be considered for settings.)
The last chapter of the Rimworld fanfic has had a really good flow of views all day, so I'm really pleased with how it appears to have been noticed, especially with all other arcs being logged and noted as well!
I hope some of these views turn into readers, since I love this story so much!
