my hottest take is that we need to stop enabling chronic self deprecation outside of a joking context. responding to “my art sucks” with “no ur arts great“ does nothing but normalize bad coping mechanisms. we should be praising self confidence and emotional maturity instead

When it comes to people saying the only way they can do art is by using AI it pisses me off because I know that's not true. I have my own mental and physical setbacks that can stop me in my tracks and yet I couldn't imagine not creating actual art.

Exactly. It's not a limit resource, it won't take away from their sales. People don't need to go out of their way to help and share their suppliers but that opinion feels kinda gross.

Yeah I just watched that video and that section felt extremely out of touch. I agree with the idea that developing the skill to do your own research is important but gatekeeping helps no one.
That's all the stuff I can think of that might help! Please make sure you do additional research before following any advice given by me or other artists!
Streaming:
OBS and Streamlabs are very similar but it seems like OBS crashes more often from what I've heard. I stream to twitch but I've also tried out Picarto. Picarto allows NSFW art streams, Twitch doesn't, but Twitch is the better choice for reach and revenue.
Website:
I use wordpress which feels so confusing and I host on Blue Host. I've had a good time with Blue Host. I've not been able to compare Wordpress to anywhere else. I'm not very tech savvy, sadly.
Brushes:
In clip I use a lot of the brushes from the store and a few default ones. I bounce around a lot for shading. However I swear by Nigel The Nib when I sketch and ink from the pack by this artist: www.frenden.com
