You gotta slay that beast! It took me years of trauma therapy (and a divorce), but I finally did it.

I don't think I've seen the Simpsons episode where Lisa got access to a time machine ;)

And then it snowed the next day. Never experienced that before. 27°C to below 0°C.
I saw a big, fat thunderbolt across the orange sky of the setting sun. Wish you'd been there to photograph it, @csath.bsky.social

Mine eats rubber bands and hair ties. My sister had a cat who would do exactly one bite through the cover of paperback books.
Tornado Watch here 😬
So adorable! Look at those big puppy paws! 🥰
It's not my thing, but maybe pickled?
The picture shows a piece of limestone with a drawing of a mouse sitting in front of a table of offerings, smelling the fragrance of a lotus flower which she holds in her hand. Opposite of the table is a cat, holding a fan.
A charming #Egyptian drawing of a #cat acting as a servant to a #mouse. Drawings of animals acting as people were meant as satire of the society and politics.
Dating 13th/12th century BC, probably from Deir el-Medina, #Egypt.

The Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus) - the largest truly aquatic frogs in the world.
They're found at 3,920m above sea level, in Lake Titicaca.
These frogs are famous for their loose, baggy skin folds, which allow them to absorb oxygen directly from the water.

The prospect of the summer ahead frightens me 🥵
I'd like to see a graph showing the ballooning cost of vet bills. I've also encountered several vets who refuse to refill maintenance prescriptions unless I do another $300 blood test 😱
The otherworldly, mottled wine-coloured spathes of the skunk cabbage emerging among the leaf litter
Also emerging: skunk cabbage! I love how the spathes inspired ESO game designers to add large versions to Morrowind.
A bright yellow daffodil, just opening from a bud
The first daffodil bloomed today. It was awfully hot for March 🥵
It's a patriarchal strategy to pit two oppressed groups against each other.
Terracotta statuette of a dog with upright, pricked ears and a fluffy upright tail. He has an oval object - supposedly meat - in his mouth, painted red. Black pigment can still be seen on his ears and the tip of his tail, in addition to some traces of red on his coat.
Every dog owner: ‘What’s that in your mouth?? Omigod, drop it, drop it!’ 😱
This Greek (Boeotian) terracotta dog appears to have a red piece of, um, meat in its mouth. I’m sure he earned it (‘Hey, that dead guy over there wasn’t using this.’)

Me, too. It's demoralizing to learn that a large proportion of the people around you lie, cheat, and steal.
This is the sort of thing a cashless society robs us of, the opportunity to try to get away with paying the bus fare in Carthaginian currency www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Much different than Dire Straits but beautiful. Needed this for our Sunday morning...

You don't need to be a psychiatrist. Everyone with a demented older relative understands why we need action on the 25th Amendment.

Comb jellies have no tentacles. I had a great time picking them up when I was a child, though they probably thought they'd been raptured. 😬

Ceratiomyxa sphaerosperma from Mera, Pastaza, Ecuador. This tiny slime mold makes its spores on little stalks, giving it a distinctive appearance. My favorite feature of these are the glass-like stems.

❗️US State Department declared an emergency to bypass Congressional approval for a $660M bomb sale to Israel, the New York Times reported. The package includes 12,000 450kg bombs, 10,000 225kg bombs, and 5,000 small-diameter bombs. Secretary Rubio said an emergency requiring immediate sale exists.
That bird nesting in skull fabric at the lower right corner of that quilt? I loved that fabric so much I bought more, and used it to make these zipper pouches for a tablet (larger) and whatever (smaller).
