If in NYCβ¦.

No need to poll when weβre all giving it away for freeπ
And to be clear, Iβm counting so many Dems in that. Why is anyone surprised?
Is it a coup when so many people line up for it?
The very first thing I thought was βis this suicideβ?
Exposure to diversity expands solidarity
Thatβs what makes cities great
Thatβs why people who live in denser neighborhoods are more likely to vote on the left
Get up and do the things!
Snow events are excellent times to prove that the miles long 4-3 road diet turn lanes are unnecessary.
Adding βas an involved parentβ in front of a statement does not add value to what you say. What it does is take from every other parent in the room.
Urbanism is the radical idea that people who are not in cars still count as people.
I thought this was βAmerican children arriving to school today versus 1984β. Good thing I read the caption.
For decades countries have been sending its citizens to go off to war. And die.
For oil.
The new wars will be about rare Earth metals.
And poor civilians will still go off to war thinking they are fighting for country.
Child sleeping on the airport floor.
Man crunched into a chair with armrests so he canβt lay down.
Two people sleeping on the airport floor.
Airports in the States have hostile furniture. Do we fear people will linger? Do we hate disability or children?
What is so wrong with us that we donβt design places for people? I have a feeling itβs linked to the βonly whatβs best for my kidβ and βget off my lawnβ culture we cultivate.
βIf you care about the bottom line, budgets & taxes, then you should care about urban biking, because itβs a money saver. Itβs ironic when so-called fiscal conservatives attack urban biking, when their efforts just show a lack of understanding of math.β #CityMakingMath

A rainy window on the runway at ATL
Iβll miss you 8R-26L E3! Three hours waiting for a gate at ATL. These flight attendants need hugs.
Scrolling through Reddit tonight and I came across this photo from the Palisades fire and I've got to say, the symbolism here feels impossible to ignore.
If you canβt maintain what you have, building more is not a solution.

CDG M gates central plaza art museum.
CDG airport is a plannerβs dream. No one is clogging the gate area because there is a plaza at the airport. They have couches, an art museum, free arcade games, PS2 stations, and tiny gyms for the little ones.
It really calls into question the efficacy of American policing when police are not advocates of gun control or traffic calming/safe street policies, two things that would greatly reduce the leading causes of death among kids--and cops.
It can feel like every system is designed to not work. π§΅
Every day, every decision either makes a place better or worse. Doing nothing is a decision.

The order of the factors do matter...
Focus on living Healthier & Happier, and we'll probably live longer. Focus is NOT living longer.

CiclovΓa changed the way we look at streets foreverπ
One hundred years ago next week: On December 15, 1924, Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover convened the National Conference on Street and Highway Safety in Washington.
Winter bike to the doc. After the layers come off, the finger tips are a little red, but I feel alive.
(I lost my good gloves at a meeting with City, County and MPO transportation officials last year. Zero came from the meeting. Net negative. Their lossπ€£)
Kids playing in an urban plaza in downtown Auckland NZ.
Still too often I hear βfamilies will never want to live downtownβ or in urban places, ignoring contrary evidence from successful cities. Itβs a self-fulfilling prophesy β we design downtowns to virtually repel families, and then when families donβt come, or donβt stay, we say βSee? We were right!β
That isnβt working out as planned. He eats like a pig, he wonβt stop cuddling, Tippy adores him, and he has at least three good legs now. Sometimes his zoomies end in a slide, but Iβll be damned if thatβs not my style too.
Welcome to the forever family, Archie, and f*β¬k cars. 3/3
Archie was surrendered to LRAV after being hit by a car. He came in without use of his hind legs, and he was getting depressed in the shelter. He stopped eating, and we were afraid he was giving up. So he came to decompress with us for a little while. 2/3
