One way that makes it feel good is that Iβve started a spreadsheet tracking my purchased albums. Translating that cost to equivalent streams on Spotify is eye-opening.
Iβm admittedly a little late to the return to physical media and direct ownership. Moving away from streaming platforms in 2025 and taking pride in supporting artists in a much more tangible way.
Bring back physical media. Streaming empowered CEOs and shareholders, which is why you have creatives advocating for piracy of their works. If you love an artist, buy their book or album or film or TV show. If you can get it in physical, do that. Start canceling streamers, you don't watch it all.
