🎉👏 Big congratulations to @camdencyclists.bsky.social's very own Jean Dollimore for being one of the nine “unsung heroes” recognised by TfL in form of a Santander Cycle taking her name!

The annual social cost of urban road noise in England is £7-£10 billion & the WHO identified environmental noise as the second largest environmental health risk in Western Europe. LTNs & 20mph speed limits can massively improve this.

Bromley residents catch 1,000 speeding drivers in neighbourhood Drivers speed along quiet roads in Bromley but nothing is being done to stop them, locals say.

Having had to visit Bromley the other day, I can well believe it. What they need though is LTNs.

Great video — but the real issue is driver culture. Why rush past a cyclist only to sit at the next red light, where they catch up anyway? Adding real risk for only a few seconds — or often zero gain. We wouldn’t barge ahead in a normal queue, so why do it behind the wheel?

Hammersmith Bridge would cost £250m to reopen — but should it? Campaigners want the west London crossing kept car-free, but MPs and residents say the closure is harming families and the local economy

Good morning, nearly everyone!

“You have a car lobby who are hiding behind buses and ambulances. It’s an easy thing to hide behind but what’s behind the ambulance? It’s a Range Rover.”

@kingstoncycling.bsky.social It's been 3 months now. The Beeline between N Malden & Elm Rd is still a bizarre forest of signs, the footpath side is basically usable but still closed. Any indication what the plan is from Kingston Council?

Help us decide how to spend our innovative £15m public fund! Last year, we asked the people of Merton for your ideas on how we should spend our innovative £15m public fund, called the Legacy Fund. We're now turning these ideas into projects.

Scheme previously had planning permission which lapsed due to the Council sitting on the scheme for ages, suggesting it should get through planning again. (This illustrates why the institutional procrastination and flip-floppery Merton is so prone to is horribly inefficient. Do, or don't do.).

I see the DfT is back to its usual tricks of claiming nice carriageways are good for cyclists.* And with with British Cycling enabling them.

*Yes, I know who campaigned for better roads back in the day. A smooth A-road is still not suitable for most people to feel safe being there.

I do like this little scheme on Bayley St - just off Tottenham Court Rd.

This was a signal controlled junction from a one-way street, contraflow cycling was added & then the junction filtered with a cycle track.

Now it's a bike lane & a new public space with SuDS. 🚲☔️☘️💚

Strange how the anti-cycle lane bus huggers never mention how often London's buses are delayed and diverted by badly parked and crashed cars

Driving is a privilege, earned through assessment and retained via acceptable standards.

Why should such people ever be allowed to lawfully drive again and share the road with victims?

We would never return a firearms licence to someone who unlawfully used a gun to kill. Why is driving different?

Take action!

📷 We need your photos of the school run. The more people see how unsafe and unhealthy it is for our children - the more power we have.
