This is exactly why environmental, economic and social justice are inextricably linked.

It should be a no-brainer and the fact that it isn't just goes to show how much our system is in thrall to fossil fuels, capital and the status quo.

Tear it up and start over for people and planet. #VoteGreen

Did baby boomers eat all the pies? John Lanchester on the truth about the generation gap It’s a grim time to be in your 20s, no doubt, but don’t blame it all on older people: being chopped up into ever smaller rivalries only serves the market

So very many reasons that I #VoteGreen in this article.

Reckon Lanchester would be an interesting guest for @zackpolanski.bsky.social to have on @boldpolitics.bsky.social.

Ok, you're trying to gaslight now. You were insistent these were new policies, I've just shown you they're not. You have fun moving your goalposts, sure it's great exercise.

OK, here you are. 2019 manifesto. Page 66.

"including references to internal policy documents"

We have pages and pages of policy. If they all went into our manifesto, nobody would read it. May have been "amplified" since, including by opposing parties scaremongering, but just because no one was paying attention doesn't mean it didn't exist.

NHS official pushed to add patient data to Palantir platform whilst also advising company

A lobbyist who worked directly for Peter Mandelson, on the Palantir board, and on the board of *four* NHS trusts.

Lobbying the NHS to hand over even more patient data to Palantir.

This absolutely stinks. Get Palantir out of the NHS. Sign my petition:

We care about everyone. Everyone should have a decent standard of life, access to healthcare, good public services, clean air to breathe, a liveable planet. Surely that's what most people want? Including higher earners? Or do you think they're all money obsessed sociopaths?

I believe @alexarmitage.bsky.social and @zoegarbett.bsky.social were policy coordinators at the time. Obvs Bluesky didn't exist then and I've no idea if they were on the hellsite then but there's another avenue for your "research".

I'm not sure exactly what bit of the internet you're pulling that from, but it's wrong. Screenshot from policyarchive.greenparty.org.uk. Members only I'm afraid.

The drug policy hasn't even been revised since 2019. I don't know where you're pulling these dates from but they have no basis in reality.

Well, you can't introduce something til you've discussed and agreed it, now can you? But I've literally just shown you UBI as a policy in 1979. If we're going by "when Winter Weasel was made aware of it" that's not exactly an objective metric, nor a sign of good faith debate so, goodnight.

Perhaps you need to do some more research then.

They are NOT new policies. They have been iteratively developed and voted on by members over the lifespan of the party. Zack is doing a brilliant job of getting the policies out there, but they are NOT. NEW.

At this point, I think we NEED disruptive because the status quo isn't working. And it would certainly massively change the economy, but again, who exactly is that working for right now?

I want to live in a country that values the wellbeing of citizens over GDP.

The GPEW is over 50yrs old. It's not new. These policies have been painstakingly developed over that time. It's a really interesting history. If you've time, go deep dive the People Party and Ecology Party.

UBI actually works out cheaper as no need for means testing, application processing, etc etc. And then you adjust tax brackets accordingly to recoup from those who don't need it. Obviously the tabloids will then need to find another boogeyman without "benefit scroungers" to vilify.

04.03.2026 23:30 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

As I've said before, we can't afford NOT to transition. It will be expensive but the longer we wait, the more it costs.

Landlords bail out, public housing buys properties. Atm people are paying too much for substandard homes. Also, unpopular (and I'm a homeowner) but escaping landlords flooding market might drop prices and make it possible for young people to buy again. (Will need to be some relief for neg equity)

The point is, whilst drugs are illegal, there AREN'T any controls. The dealers are in charge. Legalise, regulate, tax, and have contact points to offer addiction support where appropriate.

Far quicker to build that storage, included decentralised power storage via domestic batteries, EVs etc, as well as hydroelectric projects and current tidal research than to build nuclear at an inflated cost with inflated ongoing minimum prices per GW.

04.03.2026 23:21 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Challenging, yes. Because we've waited far too long to take action to cut emissions. The longer we wait, the more challenging it will become.

Individuals can relocate, certainly (tho I suspect most wouldn't upend their lives for 2%). But assets such as land cannot. If they divest from it, there's a tax opportunity. And if they're moving liquid assets, apply an exit tax.

04.03.2026 23:18 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Green Party's policies extend far beyond manifestos. A manifesto is purely a snapshot of immediate priorities. There is an extensive and detailed policy document, built over time by members including specific working groups on each topic with expert advice. Always important to read past headlines.

04.03.2026 23:15 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I mean, for me, that's a sales pitch. But then, I understand the detail of much of that policy as I researched before joining the party. None of them are "achievable" by waving a magic wand but they can all be put in progress (such an apt term) relatively swiftly and begin to make a +ve difference.

And Farage knows it. That's why he refuses or is "indisposed" and sends Tice or Yusuf in his place whenever that's a possibility.

Our drug policy makes sense, @greendrugpolicy.bsky.social. The war on drugs has failed we need take a public health approach to help people, that means legalise and regulate and follow advice from proper health professionals.

Of course it is, but rather than countering a lie with another... "not quite truth" I think it's important to be fully accurate. I know you didn't intend to mislead but better to acknowledge the grain of truth and explain it imo.
