I’d lean Swain and Allen of this group right now
I’d lean Swain and Allen of this group right now
Top 4 pick coming soon 👀
Lopez, Allen, Swain are the 3 I’m most interested in right now. 3 wings who all have some clear strengths. I’m hoping the pick can get up to around 21, as long as guys declare it looks like we should be able to get an interesting prospect.
Found it, from an article by Adam Aaronson. Sixers would only owe a 2028 second rounder to the nets if we got lucky and the pick went top 4 this year.
Same. It does get complicated. I think at the end of the day Daryl just couldn’t get OKC to give up the Sixers pick. I don’t think he valued McCain highly and saw the Hou pick and the 2nds as worth it. I wouldn’t have done the trade, but I would have tried for our own pick back and take out the 2nds
I’d have to look it up, but I feel like last year I read something that said if the Sixers keep the 26 pick then the nets only get 2 second rounders. It doesn’t get pushed again. I need to fact check myself, that could be wrong. In that case, I imagine nets would agree to just get the 28 pick.
I don’t think I’ll ever forgive Morey and Nurse for trading away McCain. That was the final straw. I gave them a pass on some things that I felt were out of their control to an extent (Embiid and PG injuries etc) but this was purely self-inflicted. Time to clean house.
If the way this Sixers season ends is a loss in the play in leading to keeping the pick by hitting the lottery and jumping into the top 4 that would be insane. Incredible draft class with 3 big wings expected to go top 4. If Maxey is hurt and misses a few weeks, falling to the 10 seed is very likely
Last two lotteries the #1 pick went to 10 seeds who lost in the play in. Sixers next 👀
Looked that up about a week ago lol. I think it was the hawks who jumped to 1 from losing in the play in. In this draft I’d be so excited to get any top 4 pick, and even more so because we lose the pick if it doesn’t. Something to hope for if things continue to fall apart.
I don’t think he’s a great athlete, but I didn’t think he was a bad athlete either. It can be really tough for me to tell athleticism in other leagues though. He didn’t seem to move noticeably poorly compared to other former prospects in the NBL to me. I really liked Sarr, Giddey, and Lamelo.
He’s my favorite prospect for the Sixers so far. He’s been productive in a good league at a really young age. I think he could eventually be a starting 3/4 with upside. I really enjoyed reading about him as a person too. He’s the face of Mexican basketball which is pretty cool. Seems really driven.
Mocks are all over the place right now, but one of my early favorites is Karim Lopez. I always fall for the international players, and Lopez has a great profile. He’ll be the face of Mexican basketball. Swain is also really intriguing, he’s a legit 3 point shot away from being a lottery talent.
I’ve watched one YouTube breakdown, highlights, and watched most of the Michigan Duke game live so far. He is really fun to watch, I wish he was a better scorer. Going to be tough for him to overpower guys in the post the NBA. But the passing and rim protection are really intriguing.
Yeah, very odd. Sounds like the analytics love him. And Santa Clara has produced some recent NBA talent. I love a unique player. That’s why I ended up high on Edey, but also on Pokusevski a couple years ago.
You’re the first person I’ve seen mention Graves. Interesting player, don’t see many redshirt freshman go to the NBA. I’ll definitely have to research more on him as well. Can’t wait til the conference tournaments, march madness, and then draft season. Rockets needs to lose some more
If we got our own pick back instead of the Houston pick in the (incredibly stupid) McCain trade I’d be eyeing a tank today. Team vibes are easily the lowest they’ve been all year. We’ll see if Embiid is playing tonight and we can get back on track.
Couple great passes down the stretch that teammates missed good looks on. Dude can really pass for a big. Early foul trouble was tough to fully overcome. If he had Edey’s scoring he’d be awesome. Not strong enough in the post for a guy his size
Yeah, he seems to be a lottery pick in all the mocks I’ve seen. Haven’t been many lottery picks that old. I was surprised he didn’t declare last year, wanted to trade up from 35 for him. Great fit here. Was awesome at UAB
Yaxel looking awesome. 24 year old rookie is a little wild, but would be a great fit
Only just started researching, but the guys I’m looking into more are Ament, Steinbach, Quaintance, Peat, Cenac Jr, Lopez + Swain. Profiles stuck out on a quick look on Tankathon, under 21 at the draft and wing sized. Not trusting that they’d keep a young guard around after the McCain trade.
I’m hoping the pick moves up to around 20, plus I like that Morey mentioned the possibility of trading up in the draft at the post trade deadline press conference. Allows me to get excited about more potential players in the draft lol
Liked Tyrese Martin last year when I would watch the nets games hoping they would win to help the Sixers lottery odds.
Trying to talk myself into one of the current players available for our last spot. Could Cam Thomas be the next Jordan Clarkson? Once Clarkson played for a good team his microwave scoring became an asset while is flaws were lessened in a smaller role. I know many smart minds think he’s just bad.
are right and McCain is just a backup guard who will be held back by his lack of size + athleticism. But I believe in his shooting and work ethic. Thought Maxey, VJ, McCain could be the identity of this team’s future. Worries me that one of the smartest front offices is the one that believes in him
with dumping Gordon and trading Drum and a 2nd for Jock Landale or some minimum backup big. Never thought we would sell low on McCain. I still see high upside and at a minimum a strong fit with Embiid on backup units in a Seth Curry esque role. We need shooting. I hate the McCain trade. Maybe they
I was perfectly content with the Sixers not buying at deadline. My issue is with them selling. Trading McCain hurts. I really believe in his potential. This was a lost season as soon as he tore his thumb ligament on top of the knee recovery. That’s what has me really pissed. I would have been fine
Other than actually playing for a title, there’s nothing more exciting for me as a sports fan than to watch promising young players flash potential and improve. Been rooting for McCain all year to break out, and he just started flashing the shooting again. I hope there’s another trade coming soon.
If the Timberwolves trade for Giannis I would love for the Sixers to try to get into the trade. I’d send all the picks to go from PG to McDaniels and Naz Reid.
Crazy to me that Philly sent a good young player to the defending NBA champions strictly because the Sixers are cheap and wanted to duck the tax.
